Yes - but this could have an easy solution: back in the "good old pharo days" (TM) we had a nautilus with a filter above the category pane. One could easily enter the beginning of the name and the category pane, the contents was condensed which saves a lot of scrolling. This is especially helpfull when you work on a single project (what you normally do). I would REALLY like to have this feature back. Especially since we had it in the past and tools like the MetacelloBrowser, the config browser have it too. Just open the MetacelloBrowser and enter "Config" in the filter - you can easily get all ConfigurationOf... packages. Or enter the first letters of a project name like "AST", "Ann" ... It's a real time saver! I know Nautilus can be plugged together - dont know if it is possible to write a plugin to get this filter possibility back. If it disturbs others it can be made a setting. And: compared to Eclipse Smalltalk browsers are still much better. Eclipse/Java lacks categorization of methods which is IMHO horrible.

OSProcess configuration problem

Hi, I just discover a problem with the configuration of OSProcess. If you run: MetacelloToolBox validateConfiguration: ConfigurationOfOSProcess, you get: "Error: Cannot resolve version '4.6.7' for the project reference 'Pipeability' in version '4.5.7' { cannotResolveVersion } [ #validateVersionSpec: ]" Indeed, I get a ConfigurationOfCommandShell with only 2 versions: 1.0 and 1.1. It looks like the ConfigurationOfCommandShell was not published to the declared meta repo: http://www.squeaksource.com/MetacelloRepository. ConfigurationOfCommandShell-ThierryGoubier.12 is missing. As this repository is read only now, shouldn't the configurationOfProcess be updated to use the new MetaRepo? Regards, Christophe.

Using Filetree w/ Git - docs?

I have been loading Filetree in a fresh image, created a sample package, a sample class, a sample method. The created a MCPackage and saved it into a filetree repository (which happens to be a folder on the machine, no problem). Now, how is one associating that with git? (and github or bitbucket). Should I do a normal git thing, creating the project etc from the command line (or using SourceTree, which happens to lower my level of Git headaches). Thanks for outlining the process. I need private repos and as we do use Atlassian Bitbucket/Jira/Confluence for the project, Filetree + Git is a great answer I'd like to have working. Thx! Phil

[ANN] Launching Pharo on Ubuntu

For Ubuntu users who are using my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~pharo/+archive/stable/) you can now launch Pharo from either the Ubuntu Dashboard or the terminal (just type 'pharo'). In both cases, you will see the Pharo Launcher from which you can create new images from templates on the web and launch existing images. http://www.smalltalkhub.com/#!/~Pharo/PharoLauncher No need for manual download of zip files, unpacking, and directory management.
