Oh, Chris I am just a dumb developer and I don't know much about the tools, I just know it is a pain to get MC 1.5 working. I am cc to Pharo firends with a small recall of the situation, may be they have some tips Chris is working on new beta version of Magma which I am testing with him. As far as I can understand, Chris use Monticello configuration to be able to load in one click several Magma mcz packages. This requires Monticello 1.5, but this ones does not work equally on the different version of Squeak nor with Pharo. Which tools could be suggested to Chris ? [Pharo-project] how to save a package in a repository

Hi all I have a working copy of a package and I would like to be able to save it into another repository. Does any of you know how to do that? I found repo storeVersion: (but I do not know how to get a version from a working copy). May be with an UML diagram I could find my way, but so far after 25 min nothing besides trying in the dark I'm really sad that there is not a single comment on MC. This is exactly what pharo should pay attention to: documentation, simple design, ... stef

[Pharo-project] Something strange with semaphore

With the last Magma beta (41beta3, 41beta4), I have noted a strange problem when I start a Magma server instance. The image got lock up by a semaphore at the initialization phase of the Magma server. The morph interface is locked, I can get control with [Alt]+. See screenshot >From the debugger, clicking Proceed resumes normally the execution, and the Magma server is finally started. This happens with 3.9.1, but not with 3.9, nor last pharo will all update. Is it related to fix applied to 3.9.1 as http://bugs.squeak.org/view.php?id=6588 or http://bugs.squeak.org/view.php?id=6581 I was beliving pharo was based on 3.9.1,so I am curious why Magma server works with it. Damien, You asked (some time ago) for examples, and I just enountered a concrete situation of auto-completion making it (AFAICT) impossible to edit text the way I wanted. Having downloaded a fresh developer image, I am trying to install the Pinesoft enhancements, and tried to comment out some progress blocks - autocompletion insisted on "completing" the quotes for me, and I finally gave up. In fairness, the fonts could be better, so I might be missing a visual clue. For me, I type fast enough that I basically want the machine to do what I ask, and not try to help. You asked :) Please note that the answer to your question, "are the developer images useful?" appears to be yes. Our tastes on settings differ, but as I learn how to make my desired changes, I am finding the RB, Seaside, etc. very useful. Thanks, Bill Wilhelm K.
