Call for test: Dark Theme now ready (?) for integration

Hi, So I made a pass on the dark theme and I ensured it does not contains hacks and still works. And you can switch between themes without braking anything (but you need to restart all windows). How it works now? - I removed tons and tons of hardcoded colors all around image - I redirected defaults to values in theme - I fixed some buggy places So now it should be clean to include it in debut pharo4 (and maybe backport to pharo3, right now is not a problem). But I would want you to test it to be sure that is not breaking anything. thanks, Esteban

Alt-Space is Non-breaking S

â¦ Which is extremely annoying when writing blocks with arguments on a norwegian OSX keyboard. | is Alt - 7, when I donât release the Alt key before the following space, and a NBSP is inserted instead of a space character, which breaks both the parser and syntax highlighting. When doitâing, you get the syntax error: [ :a | Unknown character ->a ] (notice also the off-by-one indicator, itâs not the a, but the preceding space which is unknown). Would it be better if NBSP were treated equally to a normal space by the parser, or is there some keyboard binding I can revert? Cheers, Henry

I love the Pharo 3 Dark Theme

Hi, I have been using the new Pharo 3 Dark Theme since it was announced on May 1st. In my specific case, I am using the FreeType fonts Open Sans Regular 11 and Source Code Pro Regular 11 on a MacBookAir, both on the 13 inch 1440x900 built in screen and on a 23 inch 1920x1024 external monitor. Every day there is a moment that I think: this looks so nice, this is so pleasant to use. Really Esteban, I don't know how you did it, but the color palette is really well chosen, plain beautiful. Let's make this either a permanent part of Pharo or an easy to load extension, real soon. Thank you ! Smalltalk Virtual Machine, StVM

There is a trend of making languages to run on Java Virtual Machine. But it still cannot run Smalltalk like Smalltalk on Smalltalk VM. Is it a possible goal? How about running Java on the StVM so that Java can have the live environment and debugging capabilities like in full blown Smalltalk? How about doing the same for Python, Ruby, Lisp, ObjC, C#, etc?
