Hi Mike, attached is an updated version: - Packages should have corrected dependencies in ConfigurationOfSandstoneDb - also when 1.0 is released the development is 2.0-baseline always as one version is released and you load on the next upcoming. As it is the baseline it will load all At least this is also how Versioner works with the config, open it in the Versioner tool in 3.0. I can not commit, maybe you add it/upload it to the repo. Also put it into MetaRepoForPharo30 so it appears in the config browser as Stef suggested. I did not create groups (usually we could/should have one for each possible combination usage of SandStoneDB, for instance one for Goods, one for Fuel, ...also tests separated from core etc). I think the packages are not yet correctly cutted (for instance SandstoneDbFileSystemStore includes the store AND the tests). Usually tests should be in an own package, so one can load them separately. This way you could have a "Core" group for loading the basics you need at runtime and a group "Tests" that allows you to load the packages including the Tests when developing. Bye T.

Mac sqDecryptSSL returning SQSSL_GENERIC_ERROR on errSSLClosedGraceful from SSLRead

I'm wondering whether the Mac SSL plugin is correct in returning SQSSL_GENERIC_ERROR from sqDecryptSSL when its SSLRead invocation returns errSSLClosedGraceful. I'm trying to figure out why ZdcSecureSocketStream is sometimes signaling an error âError: SSL Exception: decrypt failed [code:-5]â. I enabled logging in the SSL plugin and got the following output: [...] sqDecryptSSL: Input data 0 bytes sqDecryptSSL: Decrypting 69 bytes SqueakSSLRead: Requesting 5 bytes, having 69 bytes SqueakSSLRead: Requesting 64 bytes, having 64 bytes SqueakSSLWrite: Writing 69 bytes, having 16971 free sqDecryptSSL: SSLRead returned -9805 Error: SSL Exception: decrypt failed [code:-5] ZdcSecureSocketStream(Object)>>error: ZdcSecureSocketStream>>sslException:code: ZdcSecureSocketStream>>fillBytes:startingAt:count: in Block: [ ... ZdcSecureSocketStream>>fillBytes:startingAt:count: [...] The related code in the SSL plugin is the sqDecryptSSL function on lines 355-387 in sqMacSSL.c; -5 is SQSSL_GENERIC_ERROR defined on line 22 of SqueakSSL.h: https://code.google.com/p/squeakssl/source/browse/src/Mac%20OS/sqMacSSL.c#3… https://code.google.com/p/squeakssl/source/browse/src/Cross/SqueakSSL.h#22 The above log shows that the SSLRead invocation on line 383 returned -9805 which is errSSLClosedGraceful: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Security/Reference/se… I'm not really sure what this status code means, but the description âclosed gracefullyâ (as opposed to the description âclosed due to an errorâ for errSSLClosedAbort) makes me wonder whether sqDecryptSSL shouldn't handle this status code as something other than an error?

How to see output of printf invocations in VM plugins

I'm wondering where the output of printf invocations in Mac VM plugins gets written to? I'd like to see the value of 'status' that gets printed in the following line in the Mac SSL plugin: https://code.google.com/p/squeakssl/source/browse/src/Mac%20OS/sqMacSSL.c#3… I (think I) know how to configure 'ssl->loglevel' so that the printf invocation is done, I just don't know how to see the output.

GUI Frameworks Choice

Hi All, I'm new to Pharo although not to Smalltalk. I did dabble with Dolphin about 20 years ago, when it was first being developed, and did some quite cool stuff. This time around I chose Pharo because I feel that Dolphin has strayed from the pure OO model that I enjoyed back then. I've chosen a fairly ambitious GUI project as my Pharo primer. The problem is - which GUI framework to use. The GUI that I want to build will be static but complex with a menu, 2 toolbars, 20 odd toolbar buttons, and 3 (dockable?) windows, containing Trees, lists and text editors. Any suggestions on which GUI framework would suit? I thought about using PolyMorph, but I cannot find the examples in my Pharo 3 image. Craig

Using a private git repository with Metacello

Hello, Is it possible to use Metacello to load a Pharo project from a private git repository hosted on bitbucket for example? If it is, how? To load project from github I use: Metacello new baseline: 'Project'; repository: 'github://owner/reponame/repository'; load. Is there a prefix for a git repository that is not hosted on github? Also, I think Metacello use HTTP to download the project, am I right? Is it possible to make it use ssh? Thanks in advance, Julien

[ANN] JNIPort documentation moves to new web site

Dear all, so far, the documentation of JNIPort, the Smalltalk library for calling Java code from Smalltalk, has been hosted on a wiki at http://jniport.wikispaces.com. Unfortunately, Wikispaces has decided to stop their offer to host free wikis unless they meet their definition of âeducationalâ. This means that the JNIPort wiki at Wikispaces will be deleted soon, but not before Nov 14, 2014. Therefore, I have moved the contents of the wiki to a new location: https://sites.google.com/site/jniport/ Please update your bookmarks. I will update the links in package comments and documentation as soon as possible, and upload new versions of JNIPort to the Cincom Public Store Repository and SmalltalkHub. This will probably happen when both Pharo 4 and VisualWorks 8.0 Non-Commercial have been released, and the upcoming version 3.0 of JNIPort is compatible with both of them.
