Seems that Pharo is a magnet for this kind of project. I've been writing one as well and using it to organize my research notes. Does anyone working on personal info mgmt tools want to talk offline? I expect we're running into some of the same issues, both conceptual and technical. Evan

Aggregation framework in MongoTalk?

Is there anyone using the aggregation framework of MongDb through MongoTalk? It uses the aggregate() command, so I was wondering if this could be supported out of the box or if there is a need for an additional Operation. TIA Phil

Hi I read the chapter on validation of the mentoring course book of andres valloud. http://www.lulu.com/fr/fr/shop/andres-valloud/a-mentoring-course-on-smallta… And I love this extension of SUnit. I loved the idea when I saw it for the first time at Lugano (presentation of Leandro Caniglia). I encourage everybody to read it. Now does anybody implemented in Pharo the SUnit extension? I would like to play with it and eventually write a chapter on it for the next book. The idea is so good. Stef

how to see methods implemented in super classes

Mea Culpa

Okay, so far, I've made two mistakes. First was my lack of sensitivity to cultural differences around the world. Now that I know better, I shall do better. Second was my failure to distinguish between different subgroups within the Pharo forum. The reason I chose Pharo forum to discuss my campaign was the fact that it is the most active Smalltalk forum there is. People who are interested in Smalltalk join the most active forum generally, and this includes not only Pharoers, but people from ESUG, Squeak, Cincom, Amber, Redline, etc. So, for example, when I appealed for contributors to the Redline project, I should've distinguished the target audience as those groups other than Pharoers. This was my failure and I own up to it. It is unfortunate that I must use the Pharo forum for this purpose. The Smalltalk community is so terribly fragmented that there is no universal Smalltalk forum to address, at least, none that is actually *inhabited*. Without the ability to address the largest number of Smalltalkers, the SRP cannot make any progress. I'm sorry, but I have to be blunt. If anyone can offer a practical alternative, I'd like to hear it. Otherwise, the SRP has only two choices: 1) Continue what it is doing on the Pharo forum, and be mindful of which group(s) I am addressing. 2) Fold up the campaign and leave the destiny of Smalltalk to the Fates. Without the ability to reach out to Smalltalkers everywhere, I am hopelessly disadvantaged. 1. What is the status of this project (http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/Seamless.html)? I see the last commit is in April. Does it "work"? 2. Can the communication be done securely? Tables in Pillar

How is one doing a cell with content wrapping on multiple lines? With the | X | Y | abcd | some very long text that should be wrapping but apparently doesn't. So it is very annoying when one attempts to describe a long thing, which is one purpose for a table. I get one single line for each entry. How to do that? TIA Phil

Custom type inference and RoelTyper

Hi, Moose/FAMIX uses RoelTyper for type inference, how this does not seem to be maintained (last version 2013), and for my purposes is lacking. So do we have something more advanced, even at the expense of speed? Other alternative would be to either extend RoelTyper or write something custom that would be ran alongside RoelTyper. Examples of such extensions would be extracting the type from meta-annotations and the actual argument names. (e.g. if an argument is named aString, I can safely assume that it will be String). Dear all, " 'http://bl.ocks.org/mbostock/raw/4063318/dji.csv' asUrl retrieveContents " lead to this error: "wget http://bl.ocks.org/mbostock/raw/4063318/dji.csv" fetches the csv file. The snippet is part of the Roassal RTCalenderExample>>exampleVisualizationCSV and i had never a problem with it. Pharo4.0 Latest update: #40621 On Ubuntu 14.04 Volkert
