Alien could not load library

Hi, I have built my own linux dynamic library to use with FFI and Alien. Up to now, everything was OK but I made some changes, and now I am unable to load the library. The compilation was OK. I have checked with ldd the dependencies, and I have loaded the dependent libraries with : Alien ensureLoaded: dependentLib But I have still the problem. Annick

While I had done the Versioneer tutorial some time ago, I had some inertial problem using it in anger. Now I'm happy to report using it just now to update the ConfigurationOfPharoLauncher was simple and smooth - which is great since I've never done a Configuration by hand. I thought it would be useful for others to see how simple it was... 1. Loaded latest ConfigurationOfPharoLauncher. 2. Loaded and tested newer PharoLauncher packages. 3. Opened World > Tools > Versioneer. 4. Selected PharoLauncher and <Open Project>. 5. Selected "development" list item. 6. Clicked <Release Version> and <Ok> to accept auto increment of version number. 7. Clicked <Commit the project> Now there is an updated ConfigurationOfPharoLauncher in its Smalltalkhub repository. Easy with Versioneer. mmMmmmm. nice. shiny..... cheers -ben

PostgresV3-CodeMirror is very interesting. 7 classes and less than 1K lines of code. In the base class PG3SchemaMirror, the compilerClass, parserClass, sourceCodeTemplate and shoutParserClass are overridden to return PG3-specific classes. That allows simple integration with other languages, in this case plsql. In Pharo we don't have shoutParserClass defined on Behavior. Where do I set what highlighter is to be used for a method? "Conceptually the same as" in Smalltalk

I've read that #= can ignore non-domain things like cache data, but what about domain-related things that do not effect identity? Let's say I have a Person class. Obviously, the #name would be compared in #=. But what if there was a collection of #phoneNumbers, and aPerson and anotherPerson differed only in that one of them had been updated with an extra #phoneNumber? Should #= answer true or false? I'm guessing true since e.g. in a unique collection there should only be one of that particular person. Then there would have to be another message like #exactlyTheSameAs:. Is there a well-known pattern distinguishing "Conceptually the same as" from "exactly the same as, but not #=="? Pharo days: date proposal

Hi pharoers and others happy hackers we would like to organize PharoDays a two days gathering mix between a conference and a huge sprint. We thought that the 29 and 30 of January 2015 is a good date. Parsing SQL in a Pharo system

The PostgresV3 code in squeak uses subclasses of Compiler and Parser to make sure that PG3SchemaMirror subclasses can parse plsql code. That looks like a nice way to work. What do we need to do to do something similar with the Opal based infrastructure? What subclasses do I need, what methods should I override? Stephan
