Hi all, Trying to understand here how tokens are used in AST. So far I can not see any order in usage of tokens. For instance, why RBValueNode doesn't have token? Is it haow it's supposed to be? Cheers, Mark

Pharo - OpenDBXDriver: Unsupported data type: UNKNOWN

Whenever I try to select a table that has timestamp defined columns I'm getting the following error: "OpenDBXDriverError: OpenDBXDriver: Unsupported data type: UNKNOWN, trying to parse 2011-03-31 17:38:35" I've traced this down into the NBOpenDBX_ApiH>>odbx_column_type:pos: method. I don't know if this is a DBXTalk problem or an OpenDBX problem, or simply that OpenDBX does not support timestamp column types for MySQL database. My system is: Pharo 3.0. BabyMock2: Stubbing individual methods from existing instance?

Hi, I'm porting unit tests to BabyMock2 from another mocking framework (DoubleAgents from VW). Some tests wrap an existing domain object in order to exercise some of its code, while controlling the return value of one of its methods (one method is stubbed). I'm guessing this is technically possible in BabyMock2, since it uses the same approach as Ghost proxies, but the readme does not show howâ¦ is it currently possible ? All other parts should be in the image, and be generated, just like the seaside canvas does for html. Working with files just kills my productivity, especially if I have to switch out of Pharo. For deployment, you can generate files, but then you don't serve them with Pharo. Of course, if you start out with files like in this example, it takes some time to refactor towards a sensible model. Thank you Thierry , guess i am an user. " I have heared there are Pharo programmers" Can i download such a program to see how good they are ? I dont want to hear anything about coding and IDE and development. I am a user and want to start a example program. Do you have a LINK for me to download ? Hans This sounds strange. However , i have here a huge range of books about smalltalk 80. All the books describe the syntax and system. To write a better and better code and more functions. The only thing that is not describes is to display a running program inside image. The keywords and methods to display and save the own code inside the packages in the form of "image out" a manipulated smalltalk image to run as a user program. The first step is a really really simple program like mathematic calculation etc. But the procedure of end product must be clear. Only one good example perhaps with a transcript display can overcome theese difficulties. Its all unclear : show Transcript openInWorld class new class Theese commands are messages to a object. But the user does not input any program code. This is automatic running. Anyway , if the Pharo.exe started the image in the program. How , and with what keyword is then the program started fullscreen - which World is invoked to display? This preparation point is unclear when i want to make my "Allready written program" ready to start. However , i make a break with smalltalk now. A few books are still ordered from USA. If this point is unclear i cannot learn further at this point. It makes no sense to write Packages and classes if i cannot invoke the running arrangements No matter if they are objects or others.

Hi hans imagine that you have an image with a program composed of several classes. One of which is the starting point of your application let us call it BibManager (this is an app managing bib entries for example). This class should have methods to start processing bib importFiles (interactive = prompt the importFiles: checkInconsistencies removeDuplicates saveNewBibFile (interactive) saveNewBibFiles: then to invoke you application you can do the following 1 ./pharo-vm myImageWithBibManager -eval 'BibManager new importFiles' (check the command line option and read the deep into pharo ZeroConfig chapter) 2 you could also define a startUp method on the class side of BibManager that executes BibManager new importFiles 3 or you can (if you have a UI) you can open it, BibManagerUI new openInWorld save the image and when launch the image your UI will be open and ready to use. Hans does it make sense to you? Stef Hello Mr. Ducasse , i have a complete program of Class and methods smalltalk 80 hardcopy. The principles of Objects are understandable. But to SAVE the image as a different program image and also RUN is a problem i dont understand yet. When i klick the program exe the image open and normally the fullscreen program window will appear.
