[Pharo-project] Bugreport?
by bb Nov. 6, 2010

Nov. 6, 2010

I tried to proceed as described on http://pharo-project.org/community/issue-tracking and tried to search in the mailing list in the archive. But in trying to access the archive I get the message from Nabble(?): This node has been deleted Here a problem description: I installed Pharo latest version on debian lenny 64 bit and it works properly from start on, but I had/have some problems with Squeak. I installed Pharo (same procedure as above) on red hat 64 bit Kernel 2.6.34.7-61.fc13.x86_64, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 and it does not work, but Squeak works properly. The message is: [bb@localhost Pharo-1.1-OneClick.app]$ ./pharo.sh libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory could not find module vm-display-X11 Abgebrochen (Speicherabzug geschrieben) [bb@localhost Pharo-1.1-OneClick.app] I installed repeatedly and tried to use available VM's from Squeak and also tried some other "tricks", i.e copy all Pharo-files in the same directory ... May be someone else has some experience with Pharon on red hat? Please tell me if it is worth to make a ticket? Regards BB

Hi Folks, Cuis 2.8 is available at www.jvuletich.org/Cuis/Index.html . The release notes describes changes in recent versions (starting at 2.0). I believe many of the enhancements could be also useful for Pharo and rather easy to harvest. So, take a look! Cheers, Juan Vuletich

Thanks for the release. I will take look deeper soon. For the moment, I ask: should we integrate Metacello-Base in PharoCore? I guess we can do it in 1.2. cheers Mariano

Yossi did you try Moose? Because moose is a softare analysis platform to build browser and dashboards :) We are working on making sure that Moose built on pharo can analyse pharo itself. This is working but we want to make sure that we can running Moose 4.1 in pharo 1.2 analysing pharo 1.3 unstable. [Pharo-project] Getting my head around low space
by Max Leske Nov. 4, 2010

Nov. 4, 2010

Hi I'm having trouble with low space warnings in Pharo. Is there a source on how much memory the image can get from the OS? Is there maybe a way to up that limit? I am loading a lot of data into the image and the limit at the moment seems to be around 500 MB. Thanks for any ideas. Cheers, Max

nick is starting to work on cross compilation toolset and remote debugger in the context of robots but I imagine that his work should let us access remote images. Having an API would be good to be able to query the system and get some information Now orthogonally what we will start to work on and people can help is the following: - we want an object-oriented structural and semantics model of the source code to be versioned in some ways (probably a gemstone db but it could be something else) - we want to have all the code of Squeak and Pharo in that infrastructure so that we can query everything we like. - Other applications should be able to use the same infrastructure for their project.
