[Pharo-project] The rubber progress bar is stretching too fast

Do you really like this new progress bar that resizes at high frequency? It's funny 5 minutes, but hardly any longer... Shouldn't we restrict update frequency to some number? maybe 2Hz or a bit more... Higher frequencies are not readable, and 2Hz is enough to show that progress occurs. Could we reduce downsizing frequency too? Between 0 and 0.5 Hz would be well enough to my taste. Any better idea? Nicolas

Hi, I am used to using TimeStamp as my default 'point-in-time' class, although it differs only very slightly from DateAndTime. This was not really a very explicit decision, it just sounded/felt right. Now that I am having some timezone issue to sort out, the way DataAndTime's are printed is more helpful. So the question is: why do we have these two, very similar, classes ? Do we need them ? I vaguely remember there is a Seaside directive: do not just TimeStamp (maybe only for portability) ? In short, what is the rationale behind this situation ? Thx, Sven

Hi guys. I still have problems with underscore in Pharo 1.3. I want to use underscore in both ways: in selectors and as assigment. If I do: Scanner allowUnderscoreAsAssignment: true. then it works in selectrs but not in assigment. If I do String allowUnderscore. then it works for assigment but stops working for selector. can someone help me to fix this? thanks -- Mariano http://marianopeck.wordpress.com

There is a huge mess in #readFrom: implementation. Some classes will signal trailing characters as a bug, some other won't and will simply leave the stream positioned after the valid part. I propose to change this behaviour uniformly: - readFrom: aStream will never fail on trailing chars (hey, it's a stream, it's up to sender to interpret the tail) - readFromString: aString will always forbid trailing char (it's not a stream, so this garbage is most probably an error and cannot be ignored silently) What do you think ? hi stef, I think I'm not the only one who didnt follow so close as you, Marcus, Igor, ... so please could you explain more in detail: - Problems mentioned with RPackage, Nautilus - why throw RPackage away and get stuck with the old browsers? [Pharo-project] When using Autotest + TilingWindowManager, the sarch dialog is unaccesible

Hi (alain?). When using Autotest + TilingWindowManager , if I then I am in the system browser and press cmd + f, the search dialog is too much in the top left of the screen. I cannot type in there, and I cannot move it. Look the attached screenshot. [Pharo-project] Is HudsonBuildTools test coverage report ready?

Hi Lukas. I was playing with the test coverage, I installed the emma plugin for Jenkis and I configure everything. However, I don't get any result but instead a: Emma: looking for coverage reports in the provided path: **/*-Coverage.xml Emma: no coverage files found in workspace. Was any report generated? Build step 'Record Emma coverage report' changed build result to FAILURE Finished: FAILURE I guess that from my xxx.tests.st I should call HDCoverageReport but I don't know how and it doesn't have class comments. What should I call from my .st ? I thought I could do something like HDCoverageReport runPackages: aListofPackages but I don't think that can work, because you need TWO parameters: the tests packages and the "real" packages. Hi guys so what do we do with RPackage - (A) throw away 4 months or more of my work. I feel sorry for Nautilus and I could understand that benjmain gets really pissed off. but this means that we will stay with the old browsers. Sounds like a promising future. - (B) use it with a mapping one to one with category (and yes people will have to change the configurations). This is done. - (C) somebody takes three hours to look at what I did and think a bit but does not tell me that this is easy but propose a real plan to get towards a solution. Marcus, igor your wish to have labels (I added them to RPackage). I fixed SystemAnnouncement. Now without help it will not work (if you do not put energy on the table). I have a lot of wishes too and something else to do too. Because we have categories in additionâ¦ I discussed with Benjamin and we can fill up RPackageOrganizer with MCWorkingCopies but this means that we will have to match the complete system with subcategories ( Graphics-Core should match Graphics* So since it does not seem that we are pragmatic or that we want to make progress on this topic, I will do A and we will wait for concrete discussions. Apparently nobody care anyway. So this should not be important after all. Stef
