Nautilus: plugins, PackageTreePackageSelection, PackageTreeTagSelectop, promote, tags, ...

I have been looking at Nautilus plugins as I wanted to be able to export some classes to other formats (e.g. CSV, XML for use with other tools). Then, I started playing around with the URLPlugin with its buildString method, which proves helpful to find out about what is selected in the 'list2'. So, that's where I started drilling down the rabbit hole... So, I see that we have packages and package tags. And actions like promote as true package and demote (which kind of doesn't work and crashes, but I should test further). One thing is that this setup breaks the PackageTasks plugin is broken at this point. We have: >>packageSelected: anAnnouncement package := anAnnouncement package. ... tasks := (self systemNavigation allCallsOn: 'flag:' asSymbol) select: [ :m | package includesMethod: m selector ofClass: m methodClass ] ] But with the packages and tags, it doesn't work. In fact, package is misleading as the announcement contains a PackageTreePackageSelection or a PackageTreeTagSelection. Question: how is one filtering on either the package or a given tag? Is this possible? I saw the >>node and node>>item things. I was trying to build the full path (Like "Nautilus-Plugin" from what is selected in the model). Question; Is there any method for doing that at this point? (e.g. fullTag?) Then I tried this: Object subclass: #XXXX instanceVariableNames: '' classVariableNames: '' category: 'Nautilus-Nautilus' This gets XXXX mixed with the classes in Nautilus under the Nautilus package in the Nautilus tag. So, a tag class is mixed with the root package. Not nice. What's the underlying model? Is there a doc somewhere? Going back to the digging... TIA Phil

I encountered a strange problem while loading voyage. It seems the configuration for magritte or grease is strange. If I load voyage from the configuration browser I get the following screen Any ideas? Norbert

On Debian I can install Squeak vis-a-vis apt-get install squeak. But I cannot do this for Pharo with Debian 7.0. Would it be a good idea to get this to work for Debian 8.0? Ralph Boland

Tiling Window Manager in 3.0: working but still issues with WorldMorph

TWM works in 3.0 after some work on icons and updating menus. Gofer new smalltalkhubUser: 'LaurentLaffont' project: 'TilingWindowManager'; configuration; load. ((Smalltalk at:#ConfigurationOfTilingWindowManager) project version: '3.0') load You can also use ((Smalltalk at:#ConfigurationOfTilingWindowManager) project version: #development) load but this will for sure change over time. There is the World management icon which is still there and it looks like it can create worlds but switching between them just breaks havoc. Maybe should we just remove that feature from TWM as 3.0 doesn't seem to be multiworld friendly. Nothing done on tests nor themeing (which appears to be not that working well in 3.0 either due to theming changes); At least the thing is back :-) [I missed it...] Phil

There are some free Smalltalk books collected by Stef in the past. http://stephane.ducasse.free.fr/FreeBooks.html Yet this page is often unknown to people. I therefore converted them to a more Seaside like demo using the Bootstrap project at: http://pharo.pharocloud.com/pharobooks as part of the Pharo/Seaside/Bootstrap demos at http://pharo.pharocloud.com Code for this is on http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~TorstenBergmann/PharoCloud. I would suggest that we create a shortlink "books.pharo.org" for http://pharo.pharocloud.com/pharobooks to it - any takers?
