Hi I created an image based on the script of mike (after running his script the packages are clean and the image is working normally). But before pushing that in the stream I would like to make sure that everything in under control. https://gforge.inria.fr/frs/download.php/23650/PharoCore-1.0-10456-BETA-clo… it would be great if you could have a look. You can see the difference between the test before and the tests after. Eliot apparently the decompiler generates the same code but with different name (number) so many tests are failing because of that. Eliot could you have a look to see if the broken tests looks suspicious to you or not? Thanks in advance. Stef

When a object is serialized, a Morph for example , and the class of that morph change, when i try deserialize the morph i get the error doesÂ´nt not understand #convertToCurrentVersion:refStream: I did see older images of Pharo and exists that method, defined in Object and Morph too. Seems than adapt the old class form to new version, if changed. The caller of that message is the class SmartRefStream. My image is a Pharo BETA 10418. Hello all, I am gradually gaining confidence with mixing Seaside and SSL. The next step is to ensure that only authenticated users can access the application(s), which seems easy enough by simply demanding a password in the first component. I have some more work to do, such as allowing users to change their password (unless I pawn that off to our directory system), and ideally finding a nice way to persist (hashed of course) passwords either in a database or other storage. If any of you have particularly elegant solutions to the latter, I'd be all ears :) My current concern is over work a user might do in a session that expires. I would rather not have to answer with: "sorry, it's gone, you're screwed, work faster next time," but that would be far better than security breaches, and the application already allows the user to attack the work a few small bites at a time. Is there a robust way to drop the user into a task/loop that re-authenticates and then allows work to continue where the user lefr off? If they close the browser, I have no sympathy; I'm thinking of timeouts. Bill

Hi, I saw a lot of discussions about Alien FFI 2 weeks ago. I still can't load it on Pharo because of the following syntax error: Ccalloc: byteSize "<Integer> ^<Integer>" <primitive: 'primCalloc' error: Literal constant expected ->errorCode module: 'IA32ABI'> ^self primitiveFailed Can one of you help me load it? I would like to work on CairoGraphics (http://www.squeaksource.com/CairoGraphics.html) but this requires Alien. I used: ScriptLoader loadLatestPackage: 'AlienLoader' from: 'http://www.squeaksource.com/Alien'. I noticed that in Squeak and earlier version of Pharo doing '.2e2' asNumber would return 20.0 or '.2' asNumber would return 0.2 but currently in Pharo those return 0, without error, comment, or other hand waving. Good thing I have Sunits... So is this a bug or feature? Hint obviously in the Fractions calculator people are lazy and enter . 2e2 or .2 without the leading zero... -- = = = ======================================================================== John M. Tested both in Pharo-Core & Squeak trunk image. The class i defined is: ProtoObject subclass: #BBBNameOfSubclass instanceVariableNames: '' classVariableNames: '' poolDictionaries: '' category: 'NILSuperClass'. BBBNameOfSubclass superclass: nil In attachment you can fin the fileout of it. And MC package, saved with it. If you try load the package, MC will display warning that you should resolve dependencies 'nil' before loading the class ;) Background: I wanted to migrate to newer image and saved my package, im working on, which i didn't touched for 3-4 months, and found that it can't be loaded :( -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko AKA sig.
