Fuel FLMethodChanged error

I'm trying to serialize and materialize some domain objects. If I run this: FLSerializer serialize: users toFileNamed: 'users.fuel'. The file users.fuel is created. If in the same workspace in the same Pharo 1.3 image on Cog 2550 / Linux 64 bit I subsequently run: FLMaterializer materialzeFromFileNamed: 'users.fuel' I get an FLMethodChanged error. If I just serialize and materialize strings, numbers, and DateAndTime objects to files everything works fine and all 248 Fuel tests pass no problem. The incoming method it has a problem with is an #initialize method. The serializeHash is 15407 and the result of 'method bytecodesHash' is 30998. What should I check to diagnose/fix this problem? FuelPreview doesn't work if you follow the instructions on the Fuel website.

Hi - If you follow the docs here: http://rmod.lille.inria.fr/web/pier/software/Fuel/Version1.8/Documentation/… The example in the docs does not work. FLAnalyzer>>#showPreview gives a dnu. If you run the example in the class comments of FLGraphViewBuilder you get another dnu when ROElement>>#addShape: is sent. Should it work on Pharo 1.3? Thanks Paul

Beginner's question / zinc w/ seaside...

Hi All. Can someone please point me to the documentation on how to register my apps when using Zinc & Seaside? And/or advise me on how to proceed. Thanks in advance. 1. I started with a clean Pharo-1.4. I pulled in Seaside, and some of my class DpFnSeriesProcessorReportQuery. 2. Then I manually started Zinc via ZnServer vi "ZnServer startDefaultOn: 8080". Opening a browser gave me the default Zinc page(s). 3. Later (after struggling to get my app registered) I spotted the Seaside Control Panel on the menu, I did a "ZnServer shutDown". Followed by opened the Seaside control panel. 4. In the Seaside control panel I added the Zinc Adaptor, and clicked the "Start" button. Opening a browser gave me the familiar Seaside intro/config pages. But minutes later... it was back to the Zinc default pages. [Perhaps I had another pharo-seaside image running ... and didn't notice??] 5. I stopped & started the server through the Seaside control panel, *but I still get the zinc pages.* - Separately, I played with variations on ... DpFnSeriesProcessorReportQuery class>>initialize which is DpFnSeriesProcessorReportQuery registerAsApplication: 'reports'. AND WAAdmin register: DpFnSeriesProcessorReportQuery asApplicationAt: 'reports'. - At present, I see 'reports' registered in the "Request Handler Browser" launched from the Seaside control panel, but I am unable to get to the pages as noted up in list-item #5. Any advice or guidance is most welcome! Thank You! Cam PS: Stef, I had drafted a few paragraphs describing our usage/application involving Pharo, but then the guy I asked to review it went on vacation, then I was out of the office, then the financial markets distracted us -- clients first! I have not forgotten, and I still plan to donate, but more later, on a separate thread.

https://ci.lille.inria.fr/pharo/ gives a 502 error. Also is Pharo 1.4-14438 the latest Pharo 1.4? Thanks

auto format methods

Something does not work with issue tracker status

Hi guys. Previously, we use to mark issues as "Fixed" once someone proposed a solution. Now we have to first put it as ""FixReviewNeeded" and then when someone else takes the time to review it put it as "FixToInclude". Now...the problem is that nobody reviews and issues get outdated. And then, when trying to load the slice or .cs it does not work anyomre, or it is outdated, or whatever. Meaning that it has to be regenerated and we spend the double of time. So, what can we do to improve this???? ideas: 1) We should be more confident ourselves. Imagine we have proposed something and it is as "FixReviewNeeded". If we have run the tests, and we didn't break anything, and the problem is really fixed, and the topic is not something REALLY critical, and no one has reviewed your issue, why not to putting it as "FixToInclude" ? 2) We really need people helping review changes. There are only a few guys that do this. You DON'T need to be an expert. "FixReviewNeeded" does not mean "HasToBeReviewedByAGuruExperiencedHacker". It just means "it just requires another eyes". Dear Smalltalkers, We apologize for multiple reception of this announcement. The International Workshop on Smalltalk Technologies, is a European Smalltalk User Group (ESUG) Conference joint event, that focuses on research activities - namely academic creative work undertaken on smalltalk use, and more generally on object technologies. IWST was launched in 2009, in Brest, during the 17th ESUG Conference. The second edition took place in Barcelona, and the third edition was held in 2011 at the heart of historic Edinburgh. Next edition will be in Gent, Begium this summer (28th of august). ESUG gathers groups of professionals and hobbyists who share an interest in the Smalltalk programming languages and related technologies. The goal of the workshop is to create a forum around advances or experience in Smalltalk. IWST contributes to triggering discussions and exchanges of ideas. As always, we make a point to have a very constructive paper review process that aims to provide in-depth comments and suggestions to all of them (no one-liners!) This makes it ideal to disseminate new research directions, and is a good venue for early stage PhD students to receive feedback on their work. Hi all! Probably some of you already saw my tweets about it: http://playingwithobjects.wordpress.com/. I'll be writing there stuff, whatever I want to write :). Probably in this first few weeks, documentation about the Pharo bootstrap project. I didn't make it public before because I wanted to see if I had time and will to write. And it seems I have both :). So far, three posts: - how the objects are formatted in memory for the VM - image based vs non image based environments - bootstrap introduction Please, do not hesitate to leave me your comments.
