Stored Settings
by Jimmie Houchin Jan. 27, 2016

Jan. 27, 2016

Hello, I am learning how to better manage my processes. I have never messed with the settings much before. The defaults were generally fine. However, with some of my projects I am requiring fonts which are best satisfied by a font with a larger character set allowing for multiple languages. At the moment I am using Linux Libertine or Linux Biolinum. I would like to easily have these be the default fonts I use in the image. I opened a clean image, I made the setting changes. I then "Store Settings". I then opened a new clean image and "Load Settings". It claims that the Linux Libertine is the new font but it is not so. In order for the Linux Libertine font to become active I have to "update" the fonts. Then the fonts become visible and the Linux Libertine becomes active. How do I automate the updating of the fonts in order to have the system fonts available when I open an image or "Load Settings"? How do I automate or script as much as possible the initial state of an image? Also in the "Store Settings" and "Load Settings" it would be nice if you could name the settings file and be able to choose what file you load from as opposed to there being only a single default file. I have attempted to find answers in the list archives. But I have not yet found what I am looking for. Pointers to documentation or articles if available are greatly appreciated. Also any wisdom or advise. Thanks. Shalom Aleichem Jimmie

"Pharo" Name Overload
by Sean P. DeNigris Jan. 27, 2016

Jan. 27, 2016

I now have three Pharo.app files on my Mac - Launcher, Spur, and non-Spur. It would be great if we can agree to call one thing Pharo, and add appropriate modifiers to the other two names. ----- Cheers, Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Pharo-Name-Overload-tp4874242.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

OSSubprocess use
by Thierry Goubier Jan. 27, 2016

Jan. 27, 2016

Hi, I'm looking at OSSubprocess use as a requirement for GitFileTree and I wonder if it is wise to list the dependency on OSSubprocess #stable or to set to a specific version (v0.2)? Thanks, Thierry

fixing our tools
by Nicolai Hess Jan. 27, 2016

Jan. 27, 2016

please take a look at this errors: (I don't want to open 20 bug entries, and I think those issues are related to two changes for Suggestions menu and one problem on rubric (the current menu builder does not work for all tools where rubric is used) So, maybe there are only 2 or 3 "real" issues. Help appreciate, especially for the rubric issue. Every time I tried to fix one tool, there is at least one other tool with a broken menu. Open Nautilus on a method: (Morph>>#drawOn:) browse without any other interaction, right click on the code pane -> a menu appears with embedded "why you see this menu/debug" debug menu caused by empty selection interval as soon as you select once one method entry, the right click menu works again. Open VersionBrowser (or any other tool (MC-changes / merge) with diff morph right click in one of the diff code panes -> error contextFor: 'Not defined context for a RubEditingArea' Open Transcript right click -> error contextFor: 'Not defined context for a RubEditingArea' Open Finder right click in the lower code pane -> 'Not defined context for a RubEditingArea' Open ProcessBrowser right click in the lower code pane -> 'Not defined context for a RubEditingArea(808452096)' Open TimeProfiler select an entry from the time-"tree" right click in the code pane deprecation warning -> The method SmalltalkEditor class>>smalltalkEditorMenuOn: has been deprecated. gtdebugger debug actions buttons
by Christophe Demarey Jan. 27, 2016

Jan. 27, 2016

Hi, I find the new debugger quite but after using it a while, I figure out that the placement of debug actions (into, over, etc.) buttons leads to make me overuse the mouse and loose time. With the spec debugger, buttons are huge and easily accessible . With GTDebugger, there are at the top right of the window and you need to move the mouse over the whole window to reach them. I know there are shortcuts but I would like to see if we can find a better place for these buttons (and maybe bigger buttons). Regards, Christophe
