Drastically improving the messageNotUnderstood title

Hi guys As I exposed newbies to our wonderfull debugger I think that we should change MessageNotUnderstood: Class>>#message into an instance of Class did not understand message To me this simple change would have a HUGE impact on making the debugger first contact a lot more friendly. Any taker? I'm off with a company today. Stef --

Generate accessors refactoring

Hi. There is very annoying logic of accessors refactoring. For example imaging your class already has getter for variable #myInstVar but with some extra code instead of simple return. For example it could be lazy initialization: MyClass>>myInstVar ^myInstVar ifNil: [#someValue] In that case accessors generator will suggest you new getter method #myInstVar*1. * I really doubt that anybody accept generation of such method. I always remove it from changes list which is very annoying. Am I alone about it? Can we remove this logic? Best regards, Denis

Hello, The current bytecode limited the size of jumps. This means that you will get this error if your mehthods are so complex that they require a jump too large. Solution: refactor to simplify. We should improve the error message to explain that. How to report website text bugs?

Hi Guys - how is the best way to report website and text bugs? As I know the English is not always a first language (and you guys are busy writing code anyway) - its up to us native English speakers to chip in where we can. I was pleased to get the notice that on OSX Sierra I need to do something extra to get Pharo to work, however the text could be slightly corrected eg. (Bolded words changed) Are you using macOS Sierra? Due to changes in security policies of macOS, you will need to put the VM in the /Applications folder. We are working to fix this temporary inconvenience. Also - the Hello world command line example on the front page doesnât work on a standard Terminal on a Mac (you get an error: $ ./pharo Pharo.image eval "Stdio stdout << 'Hello,World!'" -bash: !'": event not found The culprit is of course the â!â Character so a better example might be: $ ./pharo Pharo.image eval "Stdio stdout << 'Hello World'" Hello WorldStdioStream: 'stdout' Although, in this case, is it expected that the return string is merged with some other output text (e.g. the StdioStream:â¦.?). I think its an impressive example, but it just doesnât quite look right? Tim
