by Steve Wirts May 27, 2009

May 27, 2009

Gary here's some tweaks I talked about (progressbar and tabbar fixed). After the attached is filedin, evaluate UIThemeXP setup then to see the tweaks try (progress bar) SystemProgressMorph example and (tab bar) UITheme exampleGroups also an odd thing that may hint at a bug, is the progress bar moves faster while you move the cursor. thanks. sw

[Pharo-project] 4.1.1beta2u redraw issue
by Sean Allen May 27, 2009

May 27, 2009

If I resize a window with the Mac 4.1.1beta2u vm, it takes a really long time to redraw, sometimes up to 2 minutes or so in time. horizontally, it does it immediately. this only impact on a resize that adds/removes space vertically.

[Pharo-project] Dictionary use in SmartRefStream
by Stephan Eggermont May 26, 2009

May 26, 2009

While taking a look at Seaside issue 262 I noticed that SmartRefStream>>catalogValues: instVarList size: varsOnDisk creates a Dictionary with the default size, while having a pretty good idea of how large it should at least be. Is this called so little that that it doesn't matter?(it is only called in SmartRefStream>>readInsanceSize:clsname:refPosn:) Stephan Eggermont

[Pharo-project] Crypt ... Libraries ...
by stepken May 26, 2009

May 26, 2009

https, md5, DES, AES .... i really wonder, why you can't decide to plugin libcrypt ....? In C programming language we have all, we can imagine. So why reinvent the wheel by rewriting complex code in smalltalk? Why not including a small webserver in C language as plugin? Code is there. Same with pdf libs - why not using Display PDF in C code with e.g. PANGO, like Apple did with Mac OS X? No, instead of doing so, MORPHIC is still there, based on C-LANG blitter code. In Morphic, i noticed long time ago, there existed the possibility to print every screen object, writing it directly to file, sending it to the printer afterwards. It never worked for me, i tried in 3.6, 3.8, 3.9. Being abble to print contents out of the box in PDF format, the successor of PS, really would be nice ... Dear Squeak, Smalltalk, Pharo - developers - Do you still have the overview or are you lost in Smalltalk details? cheers, Guido Stepken

[Pharo-project] Categorizing methods
by Schwab,Wilhelm K May 26, 2009

May 26, 2009

Hello all, I _think_ I need to create a *this-that method category to put some methods where they belong, I don't see a relevant command, at lest not one that seems to be working. Is there a trick to it, or am I staring right at it and not realizing it? Bill
