Hi, I'm running pharo on Ubuntu 9.04 64 bits. When I publish a package to my disk, after pressing "Accept" on the "Edit Version Name and Message" dialog, the VM just dies. Is it a know problem? Is so, how do I fix it? [Pharo-project] Problems loading Squeak Map

Hi, I am trying to fix the SqueakMap loader in Seaside-2.8.4.app image. Squeak Map Loader shows a blank list with (0/0) The about dialog give this information Pharo0.1 latest update #10318 Trying 'Configuration->update from server rresults in a message not understood error. In the meantime I am using System->software update in the hope that it does the same thing The image is also displaying some bugs or what looks like unimplemented menu options. Are there commands I can execute to fix Squeak Map to get it to run properly? BTW it is because want to add the Universes to setup Gemstone Tools Client, but I don't mind learning other things along the way. Frank

[Pharo-project] Monticello connecting to ftp repo on non-standard port

Hi, I set up a monticello repository on one of my FTP servers. The FTP server does not run on port 21. I created a repo connection from my Pharo 09.06.1 image, it looks like: MCFtpRepository host: 'mysite.com:1234' directory: 'mc' user: 'smalltalk' password: 'supersecret' When I click on "Open" I get the error: MessageNotUnderstood: ByteArray>>port: Any ideas what's going on? These connection settings work fine on a Squeak image that I downloaded a few weeks ago. I would post a more complete stack trace but I can't figure out how. I can open the debugger, but not copy and paste any stack trace output. Pat

This question is a continuation from this thread, but I thought I will continue it separately. http://n2.nabble.com/Problems-loading-Squeak-Map-tt3085363.html I am trying to update the Seaside-2.8.4 app image to support GemTools which depends on OmniBrowser, Omni Browser morphic and a few other packages and requires them to be opened from the Universe Browser. I downloaded the Universes-ls package and installed it via drag and drop. However it is not responding properly. These are the steps I follow. 1. Installl XML-Parser.mir.3.mcz (YAXO) 2. Install Universes-ls.28.mc\ 3. World menu -> Tools -> Package Universe Browser 4. Update list from network. This is where the fun begins, whenever I try to select an item I get this error message. ============================== HttpUrl(Url)>>toText has been deprecated. Use Url>>asText instead Select Proceed to continue, or close this window to cancel the operation. ============================== On reverting to installing the dependencies from the squeak map files the system appeared to be corrupted. and became unusable because the mouse click kept bringing up the World menu. This part was really frustrating. Is there an updated Pharo-Seaside combination that has the GemTools dependencies already installed, or would be probably better to go back to a stock Squeak and install the Seaside manually? The Seaside One Click is based on Pharo which is why I am wondering whether in reverting to Squeak it will be up to date. If there is an updated Pharo that I can install Seaside and the OmniBrowser etc I wouldn't mind. Frank.

Hi all, It is about the class load/unload logic. I'm trying to remove BooleanPreferenceView. But this class is registered as a preference view : --------------- BooleanPreferenceView class>>initialize PreferenceViewRegistry ofBooleanPreferences register: self. --------------- BooleanPreferenceView also implements #unload which unregisters itself from the registry: --------------- BooleanPreferenceView class>>unload PreferenceViewRegistry ofBooleanPreferences unregister: self --------------- So ok, if I remove the class from the browser, #unload is sent and the PreferenceViewRegistry registry is kept clean. The same if I load a change set. But if I make a SLICE and load it from a fresh image, then, it seems that #unload is not sent because AnObsoleteBooleanPreferenceView is still referenced by the PreferenceViewRegistry registry. Have I missed something ? Thanks Alain
