[Pharo-project] Default Background
by Torsten Bergmann Aug. 7, 2009

Aug. 7, 2009

>I like the idea. But this background is very dark don't you find? Maybe, but #brighter was removed from Color class in Pharo ;) I like it - looks OK for me on a laptop with Watery2, but I also changed the cursors since the dark one is not appropriate anymore (see thread "Cursor theming"). If you work on Mac the cursor is black anyway - on Vista it's white. Bye Torsten -- GRATIS für alle GMX-Mitglieder: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT! [Pharo-project] WAKom and Seaside 2.9
by Torsten Bergmann Aug. 7, 2009

Aug. 7, 2009

>Was Seaside 2.9 intended to be used with Pharo beta 1? WAKom still doesn't >work with that version. Can you tell us more? Should work out of the box. At least it does for me. Evaluate ScriptLoader loadSeaside29 Then OK when asked to load, NO to run the tests and after loading select "Tools -> More -> Seaside Control Panel" from the world menu. In the control panel you can add a WAComancheAdapter with a port and start it. Dear List, Just to check where the problem comes from. Does "ScriptLoader loadOBAlpha" works for you? For me, it blocks on 'Updating Package List...'. If a pattern background is OK we can agree on two or three simple small images and provide a preference. We can also use a gradient without a problem ... anything is better than pure white. bye Torsten -- Jetzt kostenlos herunterladen: Internet Explorer 8 und Mozilla Firefox 3 - sicherer, schneller und einfacher! http://portal.gmx.net/de/go/atbrowser

[Pharo-project] Please update Linux VM
by Mariano Martinez Peck Aug. 6, 2009

Aug. 6, 2009

Hi folks. PLEASE a good soul of you update the linux VM from webpage? http://gforge.inria.fr/frs/download.php/22421/pharo-vm-0.15.1b-linux.zip Every single day there are folks asking in Pharo IRC channel how to use it. It is not intuitive and they are lost. No matter what you say, the reality is that they are lost and confused. We must put a readme.txt in pharo-vm-0.15.1b-linux.zip. The readme.txt can be something as easy as: " To run SqueakVm just do these steps: 1) uncompress this zip. 2) give execution permissons to the file "squeak" 3) run squeak like this: ./squeak /home/you/your.image " Thanks, Mariano

[Pharo-project] Wrong values of variables showed in execution context when doing self break?
by Javier Pimás Aug. 6, 2009

Aug. 6, 2009

This is another one that is weird. When I debug some code by introducing a self break statement, I usually get the values of the variables shown in the bottom of the debugger all messed up. It should be noted that "doiting" something which has self break opens a different debugger than debuging code directly. Here is an example to reproduce it. Maybe somebody has already opened a ticket for this problem. To try you can doit the following code and look at the values shown of x and y in the bottom left list of debugger. AClassToTest doSomeThingWith: 14@17. after creating AClassToTest: 'From Pharo0.1 of 16 May 2008 [Latest update: #10373] on 4 August 2009 at 1:07:23 am'! Hi, I have a Morphic newbie question. I have a list morph: PluggableListMorph on: listModel list: #displayedItems selected: #selection changeSelected: #selection: I now would like it to update when the items change. Could anyone tell me how I accomplish that? Cheers, Doru -- www.tudorgirba.com "Every thing should have the right to be different."

Date: 2009-08-05 03:55:59 GMT (4 hours and 2 minutes ago) Hi All, in ParseNode>>printCommentOn: there is the most perplexing destructive modification of a comment on printing: printCommentOn: aStream indent: indent | thisComment | self comment == nil ifTrue: [^ self]. 1 to: self comment size do: [:index | index > 1 ifTrue: [aStream crtab: indent]. aStream nextPut: $". thisComment := self comment at: index. self printSingleComment: thisComment on: aStream indent: indent. aStream nextPut: $"]. !! self comment: nil The result is that a parse tree can only be printed once before it prints without comments. Can anyone justify this? I would like to remove it; it makes no sense to me. best Eliot
