[Pharo-project] Coral using NewCompiler

I modified LoadCoral and Coral so that it works in the pharo1.0-10418-BETAdev09.08.3 image and uses NewCompiler.Since I cannot commit on the Coral repository, I attached the files. To test it : 1- file in LoadCoral that installs dependencies and the Coral version on ss 2- file in Coral and Coral-DeadCode 3- save image as coral.image 4- create coral.sh script : #! /bin/sh vm='/Applications/SqueakVMs/Squeak 4.1.1beta2U.app/Contents/MacOS/Squeak VM Opt' "$vm" "coral.image" $1 5- create hello.st [ Console print: 'Hello World' ] 6- execute : ./coral.sh hello.st ------- Below another script using Rio (File-Kernel, File-Base). 1- Installer ss project: 'Rio' ; install: 'File-Kernel'; install: 'File-Base' syntax error on loading (just comment the pragma and accept) 2-create rio-test.st [ Object subclass: #SaBox instanceVariableNames: 'bob' classVariableNames: '' poolDictionaries: '' category: 'SandBox' ] "a dummy example that convert a class in a file hierarchy" SaBox>>convertToFiles: aClass inDirectory: rootDir [ | classDir categoryNames | classDir := (rootDir / aClass asString) mkdir. categoryNames := aClass organization categories collect: [ :aCategory | aCategory asString ]. categoryNames do: [ :aCategoryName | | protocolDir | protocolDir := (classDir / aCategoryName) mkdir. Installer cache project: 'CustomProject' ; install: 'CustomProject' does not work properly because in InstallerMonticello>>project:, a ByteString path is stored instead of a FileDirectory and because MCCacheRepository default is a directory *without subdir*. I attached a quick fix, that make it work for both Cache and repository with subdirs. #Luc

I confirm the syntax error in Rio (File-Kernel-kph-31) reported by Vicnet. Just try : Installer ss project: 'Rio'; install: 'File-Kernel' to reproduce it. This error wasn't in the previous version (30). As you all know from ESUG or planet.smalltalk.org blogs the Seaside 2.9 framework is now continuing as Seaside 3.0. Since Pharo is now used as the main dev platform for seaside some packages where renamed from "XYZ-Squeak" to "XYZ-Pharo". The project is now also hosted on a new repository http://www.squeaksource.com/Seaside30/ the old seaside 2.9 repository is now renamed to: http://www.squeaksource.com/Seaside29old/ Therefore: ========= To directly load Seaside 3.0 into Pharo Core/Pharo dev I: - adapted the package "LoadOrderTest" in the "Seaside30" repository to use the new repository and ask for 3.0 instead of 2.9 (the package switch from "Squeak" to "Pharo" was already integrated by James Foster here). LoadOrderTest is used by a Pharo ScriptLoader script to load the latest Seaside into Pharo. - created issue for Pharo to adapt ScriptLoader http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=1147 - fixed issue 1147 with ScriptLoader-TorstenBergmann.1031.mcz in the pharo inbox (deprecating #loadSeaside29 and providing #loadSeaside30) If this gets integrated into a new core image one can then again easily evaluate: ScriptLoader loadOB. ScriptLoader loadSeaside30 to get the latest and greatest for web development. Hi Michael, Pharo has closures already integrated and there is a prebuild image for Squeak too: at http://www.squeakvm.org/win32/release/?C=M;O=D you will find Squeak-3.10.2-Closures.zip There you will also find a prebuild image for the new trunk development model Squeak has (see squeak-dev). This image should have the closure changes too. Maybe you'll have a look in the changesorter in one of the which may still have the change file for the closure stuff. Otherwise ask Andreas since has has built the image. Note that you need a newer Squeak VM with closure support for Pharo and these specific closure aware Squeak releases. Pharo doesn't seem to be using the correct version of my classes. I have tried deleting the entry point and remade it and saved and quit the image and all that. Is there a way to get it to re-register them or something? I am very happy now that the package browser is back with us, but I have a couple of questions: 1. Where did the refactoring tools go? This version does not seem to include them. 2. I know this may be too picky, but I don't know if you realized that when you start editing, instead of seeing a whole red frame (as unsaved) we only have left 4 red pixels, one in each corner of the editing pane. is this worthy of a ticket?
