It seems to me that it would be better to be able to dynamically pick up all of the child elements of an element of interest, however, I can't imagine how to define an object that doesn't know it's own contents until run-time. In addition, in my case, some of the child elements are complex (i.e. they also contain children) which complicates the traversal a little bit. I'm assuming for now that I will have to read the source XML, define the instance variables of my object based on them, and simply populate them at run time by traversing the XML tree. If the XML model changes, the object definition will have to change too. [Pharo-project] ImageMorph Vs SketchMorph Vs ThumbnailImageMorph
by nullPointer July 22, 2010

July 22, 2010

Hi, excuse me for my english. With old SketchMorph, when was resized with mouse the image did adapt to size of "container", with "stretched" mode. With ImageMorph the size is always the same of Form. I did try then the ThumbnailImageMorph, but when is resized the image disappears and morph is showed like a simple white morph. How can I reproduce the old behavior of SketchMorph? I try for example that-> aImage := ThumbnailImageMorph new openInWorld; grabFromScreen. aImage extent: 50@50. "That lose the visible image and show white morph" I wait I explain your right the problem. [Pharo-project] Fwd: Pharo application icon
by Johannes Rasche July 22, 2010

July 22, 2010

thank you all, I did it, the effect was: it showed some general Apple drawing icon after reboot as well but then I did, what is suitable for replacing folders icons: show information (of Pharo on-click) select the icon top left and replace it using cmd-v by an own icon copied directly from a preview of an icns file BTW Stéphane: what do you mean by "add to the book" Johannes Am 22.07.2010 um 09:55 schrieb Stéphane Ducasse: > 5) add to the book :) > > On Jul 22, 2010, at 9:48 AM, Mariano Martinez Peck wrote: > >> >> >> On Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 9:27 AM, Geert Claes <geert.wl.claes(a)gmail.com> wrote: >> >> My guess is that the icon is the VM icon+ >> >> I think that yes. [Pharo-project] Pharo application icon
by Johannes Rasche July 22, 2010

July 22, 2010

Hi folks, I like to have an own app icon, but couldn't figure out, where it is deternined ( I tried to find in the class browser). I found only the icns file inside of the one-click package, but this seems only good for the file system, at least on MAC, it worked, if replaced, but the application icon in the Dock was still the same Thanks in advance Johannes Johannes Rasche Hagelberger Str. 56 10965 Berlin mail: johannesrasche(a)me.com skype: johannesrasche www: http://myNeat.de fon: +49-30-7469 4425

[Pharo-project] 1.1-11409-rc4dev10.07.2 - Transcript behaving strange
by Stanislav Paskalev July 22, 2010

July 22, 2010

Hi everyone, I'm going through the first chapter of Pharo by Example and the Transcript morph behaves somewhat strange. When I type "Transcript show: " into a workspace, every time I press space 2 numbers are shown in the Transcript, they look like character indexes from the text from the workspace it self. I believe this is non intentional, perhaps some debugging output left over ? -- And let me congratulate everyone involved in Pharo, it looks really polished and makes a very good first impression for newcommers to Smalltalk like me :) Best regards, Stanislav Paskalev

[Pharo-project] Monticello repository types
by Geert Claes July 21, 2010

July 21, 2010

I just made a few diagrams trying to explain how Monticello/Metacello works as part of the collaborActive book (http://book.pharo-project.org/book/introduction/Repository) and I was just wondering if anyone actually uses Monticello repository types like FTP, SMTP, ... ? Would it make things easier to just keep Directory/Cache and HTTP and maybe GOODS as standard repository types? -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Monticello-repository-types-tp2295053p2295053.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Pharo-project] PharoInbox ....
by Geert Claes July 21, 2010

July 21, 2010

It would be nice for the "next" SqueakSource to have a built-in ticket system so there wont be a need for separate repositories like PharoInbox. Anyhow, just a thought :) -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/PharoInbox-tp2297199p2297199.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
