Hi, I'm trying to look at http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3579 When I accept the method, the "Unknow variable...." dialog pops up. But I struggle to find from where this dialog has been created. So when you have a modal dialog and you want to find / explore the stack/context from which it has been opened, how do you get it ? What about branch from a branch ? In general you need a tuple of (base version, branch id, branch version) to identify a branch version. Similarly a branch on a branch would become ((base version, branch id, branch version), branch2 id, branch2 version). In VW we use the following convention base version + branch id - branch version which then naturally extends to base version + branch id - branch version + branch2 id - branch2 version In monticello, your 'version' is author.nr (to accommodate distributed development) so the scheme would become author0.nr0 + branch1 - author1.nr1 + branch2 - author2.nr2 People probably won't like that, but I think the notion of the version identification tuple is relevant to the discussion. For example neither of the schemes below indicates where the branch starts. Hello, Gofer doesn't likes my package naming :( When i use: Gofer new url: 'http://squeaksource.com/VMMaker'; package: 'CMakeVMMaker'; load. it loads the CMakeVMMaker-EstebanLorenzano.15 however, if i open the MC repo browser, it clearly shows that most recent version is CMakeVMMaker-Igor.Stasenko.16 (at the moment of writing this message) which means that Gofer package name/version parsing logic are not in sync with MC. Same applies to VMMaker-oscog.. Tried to do: Gofer new url: 'http://squeaksource.com/VMMaker'; package: 'VMMaker-oscog.46'; load. and it barks that given version is not found.. which of course not true. Actually i surprised that Gofer simply don't reusing the MC package enumeration logic.. or maybe it does.. but obviously doing it wrong :) -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko AKA sig.

That I knew but my problem is that *all* resources are initialized *at once* before running the test suite. I would need *only* the proper resource to be initialized before running all tests in every TestCase subclass... My problem lies in the fact that the resource I need is a singleton instance that is initialized based on specific parameters, each time different from one test case to another. So what happens is that all tests cases end up using this singleton with the way it was last initialized before running the test suite, which ain't good! ----------------- Benoit St-Jean Yahoo! [Pharo-project] Tabs and back button in browser?

Hi Pharoers, Are you thinking about introducing tabs and back/forward button, like in web browsers? Just because of web we are now all accustomized and used of tabbed browsing and navigation with a back and forward buttons. This habit now demands all other tools to follow. Tabs are now everywhere, also in Smalltalk. Look at Visualworks, also Dolphin. Introducing tabs soon in Pharo will therefore greatly improve user experience, so if someone would spend some time on it, his contribution will be very valuable!
