What is the state of Squeak/Pharo/Cuis for Android tablets and phone? Lots of questions: - what is the state of VM/images? - any comments/hints on devices, speed and memory consumption? - is it worth to buy one to run Smalltalk for own stuff? - anyone written apps with Smalltalk for Android? - is it possible to interface with native stuff. state of touch support, ... Thanks for sharing any experience. Thx T. -- NEU: FreePhone - kostenlos mobil telefonieren und surfen! Jetzt informieren: http://www.gmx.net/de/go/freephone

[Pharo-project] Glamour-Morphic-Theme package rename?
by DougEdmunds March 5, 2011

March 5, 2011

Shouldn't the Glamour-Morphic-Theme package be renamed to fall under Polymorph-Widgets, like the other themes? It seem that otherwise, the package system will get cluttered with individual theme names. I think of the packaging system as most generic to more specific (using the hyphens). Glamour-Morphic-Theme seems to stick out as not following this naming convention. -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Glamour-Morphic-Theme-package-rename-tp3332037p333203… Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

And what about Seaside for example? Few years back, we used to have a Seaside + GlorpDBX + SqueakDBX example that we used for the university thesis. However, I guess it is quite outdated and note sure if it works. But maybe we should do that. I think it is a good idea. In addition, we can use the same example for the PBE chapter. Finally, I remember an ESUG project which idea was a open source application based in pharo, seaside, glorp, etc, to use as an example/learning. I don't remember the name right now....but it would be awesome if that app could be changed to use GlorpDBX + SqueakDBX instead :) thanks mariano > ----- Original Message ----- > *From:* Mariano Martinez Peck <marianopeck(a)gmail.com> > *To:* Germán Arduino <garduino(a)gmail.com> > *Cc:* ESUG Mailing list <esug-list(a)lists.esug.org> ; A friendly place > where any question about pharo is welcome<pharo-users(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr>; Pharo > Development <pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr> ; The general-purpose > Squeak developers list <squeak-dev(a)lists.squeakfoundation.org> > *Sent:* Friday, March 04, 2011 7:53 AM > *Subject:* Re: [Esug-list] [squeak-dev] [ANN] ESUG supports once > againSqueakDBX > > > > On Fri, Mar 4, 2011 at 11:50 AM, Germán Arduino <garduino(a)gmail.com>wrote: > >> Certainly all the Smalltalk community should thank ESUG by the >> continous support to lot of initiatives. >> >> > And to ESUG sponsors :) > and ESUG conference attendees...and...and..lots of people :) > > >> Thanks ESUG. >> >> >> 2011/3/4 Mariano Martinez Peck <marianopeck(a)gmail.com>: >> > We are really happy to announce that ESUG will sponsor us once again >> through >> > the ESUG Summer Talk project.
