[Pharo-project] SmalltalkHub going beta in a week
by Nicolas Petton April 7, 2011

April 7, 2011

Hi, We've been working on a new code repository & project management application for Smalltalk with ESUG named SmalltalkHub. If everything goes fine, the app should be in public beta in a week. The source code of SmalltalkHub will be available at the same moment (the project itself is hosted by SmalltalkHub). Here's a screenshot in the meantime. http://nicolas-petton.fr/2011/04/06/smalltalkhub-beta-in-a-week.html Cheers, Nicolas -- Nicolas Petton http://www.nicolas-petton.fr

[Pharo-project] Import Package from VW to Pharo
by Glenn Swanlund April 7, 2011

April 7, 2011

I have a package in VW7.6 that I want to move to Pharo (Windows 7). I tried Fileout30 but could not get it to work. I was thinking of reading the .PST file using the XML parser and then programmatically add classes and methods to Pharo. I've looked at various classes related to Class and am having difficulty getting started. Can anyone provide some pointers? Regards, Glenn

[Pharo-project] Issue 3968 in pharo: ByteArray>>#asInteger
by pharo＠googlecode.com April 7, 2011

April 7, 2011

Status: New Owner: ---- New issue 3968 by sven.van...@gmail.com: ByteArray>>#asInteger http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3968 Pharo 1.2.1 (proposal for 1.3) Since the methods #asByteArray and #asByteArrayOfSize: (part of System-Hashing-Core) exist, it would be logical that the inverse exists as well: ByteArray>>#asInteger | integer | integer := 0. self withIndexDo: [ :each :index | integer := integer + (each bitShift: (bytes size - index) * 8) ]. ^ integer Granted, these methods pick the most common ordering (network byte order, most significant byte first, big endian). We should note that in the comments. Adding endianness as a parameter would unnecessarily complicate the interface. Maybe a littleEndian variant could be provided (#asIntegerLittleEndian, #asByteArrayLittleEndian, #asByteArrayLittleEndianOfSize:) ? I've written this already in two projects, anybody else thinks this would be handy ? Sven

[Pharo-project] Issue 3948 in pharo: Transcript and ThreadedTranscript needs to be merged

ThreadedTranscript's install method now destroys the Transcript class. Transcript now has a semaphore, so maybe it is thread safe? merge needed.
