Hi! I am moving my SS stuff over to Smalltalkhub and I am discovering some things as I go: - There is no proper way to *list* existing projects or members. Need! :) Also, I wonder how google can index projects - I don't think it can. - There is no proper way to search for a member by full name or part of username/full name. The search field can find a person if you type in the exact *username*. So you can find me if you search for... "gokr" (exactly) but not for "GÃ¶ran" or "Krampe" or any part there of. - There is a bug so if you edit your User account settings (sometimes called "Edit profile" sometimes called "Settings" :) - then if you enter a full name that is different from the username you signed up with (as I did) then the projects you have created before will disappear from the Dashboard. Oops! They are not gone however, they are still located at ~username/Projectname - but Dashboard seems to mistakenly search for them using "Full name" instead of username. Finally a "workaround" to find people: If you edit a project and go to add contributors field it turns out that it does "partial" search over Usernames - so typing in "okr" will find "gokr". But it doesn't search over Full name at all ... regards, GÃ¶ran PS. Yeah, I might check if I can help out with this...

The ideas is simple: If someone downloads Pharo he usually does not know magic Gofer/Metacello scripts. He also did'nt follow the mailinglist for years to know about all the nice things that are available in Pharo world and on so many different servers (SqS, SS3, SmalltalkHub, ...) On the other side ACCESSIBILITY of packages and informations is CRUCIAL for ADOPTION. Otherwise people turn away after a short look. Thats why I created the Pharo help browser, the config browser and now work on an Pharo online help (which is alpha but accessible from the config browser already). And I'm not Inria ;) >So anyone (having done the necessary validation for 2.0) can copy into >the MetaRepoForPharo20 ? Yes - for now we do it manually. In the future I would like to see a mechanism that loads the config for a specific Pharo version and validates by running all the tests. If broken the author/community can be informed. I think the naming is more related to historic development: my original implementation just had one tab named "Configurations". Esteban later added "Untrusted" since these are the ones that are not (yet) tested in the according Pharo version. It's a nice addition since it makes them easily accessible as well. However I now changed the tab names to "Core" and "Community" in http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=7154 Reminder: ========= It is still required that people try out the "Community" ones and if they are working fine in Pharo 2.0 copy them to http://ss3.gemstone.com/ss/MetaRepoForPharo20 so they appear in "Core" There is lots of nice stuff out there (distributed in various repositories, posts, ...) and it only makes sense if people know about it from a central place and have easy "loading" access to it right from the image... It's open source - but still there is no - descriptions of what is required to set it up locally - load script or a ConfigurationOfSmalltalkHub so one can load the required packages Especially the last point may be a step to be able for the community to help and contribute and put it on more shoulders. This would lead to better acceptance. Currently it is very dependent on one persons schedule as I already wrote in November: http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/pipermail/pharo-project/2012-November/071497.h… and as we see the wishlist is growing...
