Voyage Mongo and Serialization anomalies?
by Holger Freyther Sept. 5, 2015

Sept. 5, 2015

Hi all, it is the first time I notice this and I am not sure that this has been written down somewhere and if it is known to others (and then what to do about it). I had an Object with a ByteArray and then tried to find this object using the ByteArray and it wasnât found. It looks like the ByteArray will be converted to an âarrayâ. When searching the ByteArray would not match it, an Array matches it. When using anArray to find the object and using a âgetterâ to get the value and comparing it will not lead to equality. I understand that Mongo doesnât have same types (Array, OrderedCollection, ByteArray) as Smalltalk but I wonder if there can be done something to improve the situation? Is this known? Can we improve it? I can of course workaround it by converting it to an array/orderedcollection before comparing it. holger Example: | data repository test res | repository := VOMongoRepository database: 'dbtest'. data := #[1 2 3 4]. test := ZEByteArrayVoyage new. test byteArray: data. repository save: test. res := repository selectOne: ZEByteArrayVoyage where: [:each | each byteArray = data ]. res. "---> UndefinedObject" res := repository selectOne: ZEByteArrayVoyage where: [:each | each byteArray = data asArray]. res. "---> ZEByteArrayVoyage" res byteArray = data. âfalse.. OrderedCollection = ByteArray" res byteArray = data asArray. âOrderedCollection = Array" res byteArray = data asOrderedCollection. "true"

[searchQuick] Seeking suggestions and contributors
by Jigyasa Grover Sept. 5, 2015

Sept. 5, 2015

Hello All ! This summer I had tried my hand at building *searchQuick* - an offline text search utility in Pharo 4.0 which enables a user to browse and search within the text files present in the current Pharo image. The project has reached a certain milestone where it can do the basic intended tasks. I aspire to add on more features to it and enhance its functionality. It would be great if you all could have a look, suggest and contribute. Check out the GitHub repo <https://github.com/jig08/sQuick_new> and Project web page <http://jig08.github.io/sQuick_new/>. Looking forward to a great response. Kindly contact for further details and queries. Thanks and Regards Jigyasa Grover

GitFileTree: Playing Nice with FileTree
by Sean P. DeNigris Sept. 5, 2015

Sept. 5, 2015

If I have a filetree://path/to/canonical/local/repo repository, can I later point a GitFileTree repo to that folder? From the MC Browser +Repository menu, I only seem to be able to set the subfolder relative to the #imageDirectory, not the absolute path⦠----- Cheers, Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/GitFileTree-Playing-Nice-with-FileTree-tp4847786.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

To Detent Or Not To Detentâ¦
by Sean P. DeNigris Sept. 4, 2015

Sept. 4, 2015

Can anyone explain the purpose of sending #detentBy:atMultiplesOf:snap: in the method below? The problem is that, if you resize programatically below a factor of 0.1, you enter a black hole from which many scale attempts become effectively ignored. If the send is removed, everything works for my use case, but I don't understand its purpose and so don't know if it's a bug or feature! TransformationMorph>>#extent: newExtent self adjustAfter: [ | scaleFactor |scaleFactor := (self scale * newExtent r / self fullBounds extent r) max: 0.1. self scale: (scaleFactor detentBy: 0.1 atMultiplesOf: 1.0 snap: false)] ----- Cheers, Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/To-Detent-Or-Not-To-Detent-tp4847682.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Announcements in Nautilus
by Yuriy Tymchuk Sept. 4, 2015

Sept. 4, 2015

Hi, I find announcements in Nautilus a bit strange. I guess you are familiar with QualityAssistant. To display the critics about the currently selected entity I need to know which one is selected. There is NautilusMethodSelected and NautilusClassSelected announcements. But here is a small detail, if you select a method, both of them are fired i.e. for the methodâs class and the method itself. For me it does not make any sense because I need to show critics only for currently selected source code. Moreover if I need to show something about the class while a method is selected, I can just ask the method for its class, right? Does anybody need this double announcing? (Maybe it is quadruple, I havenât checked for a package and protocol) Cheers! Uko
