[Pharo-project] Pharo summer is 14557 or 14457?

Hi. I download Pharo-1.4-14557-OneClick.zip (named Pharo Summer in Pharo website), but this image in "System -> About..." dialog is showing Latest update: #14457. But in CI lastest is 1.4 #14459. Maybe it is a typo in zip file name? Another little type, in Linux script of Pharo-1.3-13328-OneClick.zip, exec "$BASE/pharo" should be exec "$BASE/CogVM". Regards.

Hi there, I've started using Zinc in more projects and it's doing well. Except for one thing :) Using the http client, I've found exceptions happening when receiving the answer after the request. I remember one related to someone sending #contents and failing due to entity being nil instead of the expected something stream related (see ZnClient>>contents). I also found that not using #beOneShot helps. If I make #beOneShot a no-op by commenting "self optionAt: #oneShot put: true" everything works as expected. That makes #beOneShot suspicious about making the client to close the connection before getting the contents of the data answered in the stream. It seems to be closing the connection without reading the answer the server sent. I don't know of more cases but this of course *had* to happen when using Merchant* to talk to my gateway to process credit card payments so you can have an idea how frustrating this is. With the workaround things are okay so far but I'm a little worried about this bug because it seems that beOneShot is the default for everything http client in Pharo and it is going to be needed a lot. [Pharo-project] Pharo/Seaside as back-end for a social media app

Hi all, I plan to build a social media app, initially targeted to iOS clients. I was wondering if pharo 1.4 and seaside 3.07/3.1 are enough for a back-end where at least these requirements are expected: + Rest communication (I can use Seaside-REST) + Media transmission, ie sending/retrieving Photos and Videos (What Seaside modules I can use for this?) + Database communication (I can use GlorpDBX) + Ouath2 authentification (??, I understand that CouldforkSSO is a client not a server) + Scalability, where I can easily grow from hundreds to thousands of clients. Do you think Pharo could meet that requirements or I must use something less cool :-(, such as ruby on rails. Thanks in advance. I'll really appreciate your comments. Cheers

[Pharo-project] Why it takes much more time to load stuff in 2.0 comparing to 1.4?

I was checking how ConfigurationOfNativeBoost behaves on 1.4 and i noticed that it loads like 3-5 times faster comparing to 2.0.. and i refusing to believe this is because of different network latency, because most time which it spends during loading in 2.0 is showing "compiling / installing" progress but not "downloading". -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko.

in 2.0 it highlights random portions of text, completely out of sync with real difference. and if you resize the window, it doesn't changes, it doesn't follows the text.. (i think this can be a good hint to look for a place to fix) -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko.

After a discussion with Ben this week I think I start my smear campaign :P Ben and I wrote almost 1 year ago an almost complete tool to maximize automatization of the integration process, yet it is still not in use. now this is very strange to me, since - you can win a lot of time by using that tool - you can reduce the errors made when publishing - with some effort you could make rollbacks of new versions as easy as one click so here mare my detailed thoughts about how the integration process should work: https://github.com/dh83/pharo-dev-text/blob/master/integration.md Since I don't have time to program on these things I concentrate myself now on the talking :P PS: My main motivation of course is to get my fixes faster integrated best cami
