Hi, according to a suggestion by Stef, i cleaned up the framework i developed for importing/managing external icon families in Pharo. To load evaluate: Gofer it squeaksource: 'MetacelloRepository'; package: 'ConfigurationOfExternalIconFamily'; load. (Smalltalk globals classNamed: 'ConfigurationOfExternalIconFamily') perform: #load. More info on the squeaksource page : http://www.squeaksource.com/ExternalIconFamily I'm using is successfully in Gaucho, importing the oxygen icon set. Pharo would be greatly enhanced, if it would have a consistent iconic look and feel, i could open a issue for starting on this task, for Pharo 1.4 ? Fernando

[Pharo-project] tests ui errors in headless mode

Hi, We have some smoke tests in Moose that basically spawn a UI and check for Error. This used to work when running headless in Pharo 1.2 but now they fail in Pharo 1.3. I believe this has to do with the new changes in the UI Manager, but I do not know what to do. To reproduce the problem, you can simply call a Pharo-1.3.image in headless mode and file in the attached st file that: - installs a simple test: HeadlessTest>>testStartup self shouldnt: [1 inspect] raise: Error - loads HudsonTools - runs the test and outputs the XML file report - although the test should pass, it raises the error: HeadlessStartupTest(TestCase)>>signalFailure: HeadlessStartupTest(TestCase)>>assert: HeadlessStartupTest(TestCase)>>shouldnt:raise: HeadlessStartupTest>>testStartup HeadlessStartupTest(TestCase)>>performTest Can anyone help? [Pharo-project] Toward MVP: SimpleGridExample vs. ClassListExample, etc.

I have a couple of GUIs to create, and took another look at my (very) slowly evolving MVP package. A small update appears below, but the question of the day is one of performance of MorphTreeMorph in its various incarnations. ClassListExample is very impressive and reasonably quick. SimpleGridExample is very nice, but quite slow. Profiling its opening reveals that it spends a lot of time making morphs, but that's not super surprising. It's the total time that is of concern. Any takers on why? I ask, because I am trying to create basic presenter classes for lists, trees, (more or less working), text (will be easy - I *think*), and another big item is multi-column lists. My objective is to be able to easily construct things that (unless told to do otherwise) automatically deal with the selected index, updates, etc. None of this stuff is terribly difficult to do when following the Polymorph examples, PharoCasts, etc., but hopefully we can have MVP and stop repeating ourselves at the same time. The next thing I am missing is a grid. Any strong thoughts on examples to follow/reuse, or things that should NOT be used for any reason? Bill

13248 ----- - another step towards removing toolbuilder. MorphicUIManager is now not in ToolBuilder anymore but Polymorph close to UITheme (to be validated later) and PluggableMenuSpec close to MenuMorph. Marcus it will break the build server but I redid all the integration two times and I do not understand why some packages where dirty in 13247 so sorry but I lost already more than one hour on this one. Stef :(

Hi guys I was looking at Cuis and juan removed externalName and friends and replace them by printLimited.... What do you think we should do? Name for morph are mainly used in halosmorph and to debug (so we could do the same than cuis). Stef
