The welcome workspace in 1.1 (at least the copy I have handy) tells the user to evaluate ProfStef go. This is far less attractive than the browser started from the help menu. Whether the text should refer to the menu or contain the same code is up to you. Bill

Hello, I just think that class name in BrowserWindow title is more appropriate then long browser name like "OB Package Browser: SomeClass". With little name task bar will be more suitable. What do you think?

I tried but it allways fails, because it cannot load the opendbx libraries. I already tried the methods stated on their site but to no luck. RD

Monticello allows you to use local directories as alternatives to web based squeaksource repositories. When I select one in the Monticello browser it displays "c:\pharo\myapp\repo\" (maybe "file://c:\pharo\myapp\repo\" would have been better - but thats a Monticello issue. Question: Is it possible to use Metacello configurations with directory repositories too? Currently this fails for me since Metacello always tries to use a HTTP repo while loading: --------------------------------------------------------------------- baseline10: spec "The first baseline for the MyApp project" <version: '1.0-baseline'> spec for: #pharo do: [ spec blessing: #baseline. spec description: '1.0 baseline for MyApp'. spec repository: 'c:\pharo\myapp\repo\'. [Pharo-project] Resolving dependencies during installation

I've come across this a few times using Pharo: When I try to install a new package (either through HTTP repository or Gofer) sometimes it complains about a dependency and you have a option to proceed or abandon. I guess proceeding could be dangerous in this case since you never know when this missing dependency will backfire. What's the general rule of how to look for a package with the missing class(es)? Let's say I was trying to install Pastell (XPath library) via repository and during installation I had the message: This package depends on the following classes: XMLNodeWithElements You must resolve these dependencies before you will be able to load these definitions: XMLNodeWithElements>>/ XMLNodeWithElements>>// XMLNodeWithElements>>child: XMLNodeWithElements>>children XMLNodeWithElements>>descendant: XMLNodeWithElements>>doesNotUnderstand: Where do I go look for a package with this class implemented? Shouldn't the package being installed check for its dependencies and install them prior to its own installation (or at least give you a hint where this missing class belongs)? Thank you, Andrei

Hi, evaluating the following code: ('Fred', String cr , 'the' , String cr , 'Bear') lineCount ('Fred', String cr , 'the' , String cr , 'Bear', String cr) lineCount I got the same answer that is 3 but the second string doesn't have 4 lines? Regards, Fabrizio
