FileLocator problem?

Hello Out of curiosity I tried to run the snippet which Alexandre Bergel posted yesterday under the name 'Script of the day'. It failed, but nothing to do with the script itself. The problem is that it fails on the line: 'FileLocator documents allChildren.' The debugger message is "Directory does not exist: Path 'C:' / 'Users' / 'Peter' / 'Documents' / 'My Music'." Tracing through the debugger output, I conclude that the same error will arise with the directories 'My Pictures' and 'My Videos'. One thing these directories have in common is that they are empty, so as a test I copied a small text file into 'My Music', but this made no difference. I have a vague recollection that 'My Music' etc., although presented by Windows as conventional directories, are in fact some sort of pseudo-directories constructed as required by Windows Explorer, but I am not too sure about this. Could this be an explanation of the problem? It's not an urgent problem for me; it can easily be worked round by ensuring that I never try to locate files in these directories. But if it is a bug, it might be relevant to someone else. My environment is Windows 7 Professional, running Moose 5.1 (Pharo4.0 Latest update: #40613). Thanks for any help Peter Kenny

Trying to load ViDI in Pharo 4 gives an error

Hi - When I run this: Gofer new smalltalkhubUser: 'YuriyTymchuk' project: 'Configuration'; configurationOf: 'Vidi'; load. #ConfigurationOfVidi asClass loadStable I get a error that the 1.2.14 version of ConfigruationOfRubric cannot be found. The ConfigurationOfRubric is loaded from the MCSmalltalkhubRepository owner: 'AlainPlantec' project: 'Rubric' user: '' password: '' repo. Is there another one it should be loading? Thanks Paul

Font with many Unicode glyphs to display code -- IPA?

Hello I work on an app which has some strings in the code with a considerable number of non ISO8859 symbols (e.g. IPA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA) How do I get / use a font which does this? The fonts provided in the settings panel did not do the job. Thank you in advance --Hannes

Hi! Just to share a couple of experiment. I have tried the following in a playground: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= b := RTMondrian new. b shape rectangle if: [ :aFile | aFile path basename beginsWith: '.' ] color: Color red. b nodes: FileLocator documents allChildren. b edges connectFrom: #parent. b normalizer normalizeSize: #size using: #sqrt. b layout tree. b -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= It shows a tree of the file system. Thanks to GT, simply clicking on a file may show you the content and other things. You can also use the cluster layout: I have tried this on OS X, since the pointed folder is ~/Documents. New methods for the String class

Hi to all, As you may know I'm working on in some improvements for the String class. Until now I implemented some missing tests. Right now I'm looking forward to add new methods that could be useful based on Ruby API ( http://www.ruby-doc.org/core-2.1.0/String.html) These are a few of the methods that I'm planning to implement: - chomp(separator=$/) -> new_str - chop() -> new_str - ljust(integer, padstr='') ->new_str - next -> new_str - partition(sep) -> [head, sep, tail] Could you help to find out if these methods are already available for the String class? Glamour Table action on single cell?

Hi Again I'm wondering if its possible to have a double click (#strongSelection) action on single cells within a composite table. Basically I'd like to double click a value and be able to edit it (by whatever means I deem necessary). A lot of this is because I have a need to deal with unknown data, unknown values, in sets of unknown sizes. I'm trying to build stuff to be as dynamic as possible.
