Pharo 6.0 don't start

Ciao, I'm interested to understund how git support work in Pharo. i download and unzip Pharo 6.0 from http://files.pharo.org/platform/Pharo6.0-mac.zip Now when i open the application on the desktop the system open a dialog with : Pharo 6.0 it closed unexpectedly. How to run a window in full-screen mode?

Hoi! I am looking for a way to run a window in full-screen mode in Pharo. That is it should maximize, beyond the bounds that the expand button usually takes, and it should automatically resize when the world does. I'm thinking of the GTInspector but a custom class would be fine too. Is there a simple solution? On Discord I got a partial solution: window := GTInspector openOn: self. window removeBoxes; beSticky; bounds: window world clearArea. but the main problem here is that it doesn't resize when the world does. I wonder if it would make more sense to avoid the SystemWindow and embed the inspector directly in the World somehow...? Cheers! -Luke

Using the Debugger to write code

The *Pharo By Example* book says that you can use the Debugger to write code. So if you have a "does not understand" error, you're given the option of Creating a new method. That's cool. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to create new classes for my application from within the Debugger. Must I create new classes using the System Browser first before I can continue adding new methods from within the Debugger? What's the recommended procedure for all this? Thanks a lot ! I used your config and now it works. The result of evaluating 'Smalltalk osâ is 'a MacOSPlatformâ, and the VM is 201705310241. By the way, I find it difficult to fully grasp the Metacello config process. I have read Deep into Pharo, but I canât really understand why the modification you suggested works. Are there other resources available on the subject ? Seamless - send collections by value

Hello, I am testing Seamless project (https://github.com/dionisiydk/Seamless) but I did not understand one thing: I have (for example) a Person class in my server and client image. Person class implements: Person>>sseamlessDefaultTransferStrategy ^SeamlessTransferStrategy defaultByValue so all Person instances are serialized from server to client image. Good. But when I have server method, for example, getPersons, that returns a collection (OrderedCollection) of Person instances, this collection is passed by reference (or not?). OrderedCollection inherits transfer strategy from Object, which is "by reference". So in client image, when I iterate this collection, too many (thousands) requests occurs. How to manage only this specific collection (returned from getPersons) to pass by value from server to client (to be completely serialized and copied to the client image), so when I iterate this collection in client image to avoid additional network requests (proxying)? User Story Tool (aka Phratch)

howdy all, just some random musing... I've just ended a two week hardware hackathon I was on, and it was interesting the organisers advised us to spend half of our 7 minute judging-pitch-presentation on the user stories - to identify for the judges we were addressing a real problem and not just doing technology for its own sake. Afterwards I had the insight that Scratch would have made a great tool for this - for example to animate a heavy vehicle and light vehicle approaching the same intersection. And then I remember we have Phratch. So an interesting concept would be having Phratch in the Pharo Catalog under the title "User Story Tool" - and have end-users writing simple blockly scripts to describe their domain, then as the main developers write Pharo code to fulfil these requirements, it could feed working features back the animated user stories. cheers -ben

Understanding DateTime and Locale and formatting times in a locale?

Hi - Iâm really confused about DateAndTime support in Pharo? If I have a server app running in the EU, and a user makes a request from Canada, and I want to format the time they see to be in their timezone - how do I do that with the classes in Pharo? I can ask for a DataAndTime nowUTC, and if I know the user is in en-CA, I can create a Locale for them - but then how do I get the correct time offset, or how to I format that UTC date in their locale?
