RFBSever not surviving disconnection

Hi, all..Â I have installed RFBServer, and the issue that i am having is: Using the client âchicken of the VNCâ when i disconnect from the server, i get to halts, and the following messages in the Transcript: RFB: caught ConnectionClosed: Connection close while waiting for data. RFB: caught ConnectionTimedOut: send data issue; data not sent i canât proceed until i hit âproceedâ on both halts.. the problem is .. if i run this on the remote server, i just get stuck in a halt state.. any ideas? [ANN] Pharo community addon for world menu

Hi, I added a small utility called "Community" to the catalog that allows you to quickly access/browse the most prominent Pharo pages (Homepage, Discord, Mailinglist Archive, CI Server, Books page, Association, Consortium, STHub) right from the world menu. Also in Spotter. Example: ======== Load Community from Pharo catalog. As the menu entries are mirrored also in Spotter you can easily open Spotter, key in "Discord" hit enter and the local web browser should open the Pharo chat. Attached is a screenshot. Maybe this is useful for others too. Have fun T.

PharoCloud Ephemeric Cloud updates

Hi, Some updates on Ephemeric Cloud development: 1) Ephemeric cloud moved from OVH to Digital Ocean. In theory this opens an opportunity to run instances in different datacenter regions of DO. I think about adding a node in Frankfurt. Any thoughts? 2) Added support for Pharo 6 (32 bits only for now). Pharo 6 is particularly slow in read-only environments, so... now environment is writable. All changes are written to memory and reset on restart. Kind of works, Pharo 6 images are starting in 1-2 seconds (after initial load which may take for like 10 seconds). I migrated all my apps to the Pharo 6 and seems to work fine now. 3) Added custom ports support. Now it is possible to expose any additional ports needed for your Image. If you set an integer array to property "customPorts" system will expose and forward to these ports on start of the instance. Public addresses of the exposed ports are available on "mappedPorts". Note that public addresses are changed every start (and not accessible on stopped Images). 4) As result now you can remotely connect, debug and control Images running at PharoCloud using PharmIDE: http://docs.swarm.pharocloud.com/article/remote_debug This is so awesome! Thank you to Denis for his great work on PharmIDE: http://dionisiydk.blogspot.com/2017/01/pharmide-pharo-remote-ide-to-develop… Please try it and tell me if it works for you. 5) Completely new http gate for ephemerics. Instead of golang version now it is run on nginx + lua. This allows virtually all features to work. Hi marc We are a bit under water in this moment making sure that we can handle pull requests for Pharo 70. I'm sure that it will get better in the future. Esteban is moving, we got many articles to send, clement hand it in its phd :). And many more. So we are sorry about the support. The method Form>>rotateBy: slows down if applied several times to the same form

Dears, applying the method "Form>>rotateBy:" several times, to the same form, the system slows down dramatically, even imposing a 0Â° rotation. Below you can find a code snippet, to be run on the playground: |aForm | aForm:= ImageReadWriter formFromFileNamed: 'pharo.png'. 10 timesRepeat: [ aForm := aForm rotateBy:90 ]. Increasing the number of repetitions the delay get worse. Does someone else get the same issue? Is there something wrong on my code, or in the way I'm using the method? The test has been launched in a Pharo 6.0 image, Latest update: #60499, under Linux 64bit. Pharo command line, stdout and integrating with other tools?

Hi - I've been playing with using Pharo with Aws lambda and have got an image to launch in that environment. However now I need to better integrate Pharo with its calling environment - and I know there was a concerted effort to make Pharo play better which I should be able to leverage. So I am calling Pharo from a NodeJS wrapper (the suggested aws method for integrating alternative languages like Ruby, Go etc). I got this to work - however as an observation, it is rather awkward passing parameters to Pharo using the "eval" mechanism as other languages and environments frequently use the " character (particularly with Json) and this causes Pharo to fail if you don't \" this. I'm wondering if others have noted this and whether we can do this better somehow? For now a little nodeJS regex fu gets me past it. However my next question is about passing information back to the calling application. I can see that there is a stdout method on Fikestream that I can write to (great), however in my ./pharo eval call, which sends to a class method doing this - it also returns the result of that method or yourself? I guess this convention is great for the "eval 42 factorial" example but not so great of you just want to return some Json via stdout in a format of the calling environment? Is there something simple trick I can do to stop this extra result and just let me use stdout myself? Or do I have to return a Smalltalk string and then regex convert it to a new format in my calling language? I'm wondering if others have done this, or if anyone has some advice? Running a headless server

Hi, all.. I have started looking at the zeroconf scripts, and i think i have most of this figured out..Â I just have a few questions, to make sure I am doing this correctly. In order to run the current image headless, should I just do something like: ./pharo Pharo.image âno-quit & I can load up my project, but how can i get the latest updates to the project? ./pharo Pharo.image update seems like it just updates the VM.. If i run something like this: ./pharo Pharo.image eval --save --no-quit "|server| server := PrintBotServer serveOn: 8080." a PrintBotServer I would expect that it would save my image.. Â but when i hit ^c, and restart it like so: ./pharo Pharo.image the printbot doesnât exist anymore.Â any idea how to get this to work correctly?
