Hi, today I moved to Pharo5. It is great to get feedback and solutions for problems so quickly. It is a pleasure to work with Pharo and to have the community. I am grateful for having this. I have one comment. I don't want to complain, I can use it but I was wondering about the new position and size of the debugger buttons. There is a longer distance now from code text pane to the buttons - I see this as disadvantage to earlier versions of Pharo from the user experience. The buttons are a lot of smaller - same disadvantage - both if you use the mouse. Ok, after seeing that, I thought "Sabine, you should use keyboard shortcuts here, too" (I use much of them but interesting - til now not in the debugger). Then I saw the shortcuts for Proceed cmd+r Restart cmd-shift-a Into cmd-e over cmd-shift-o through cmd-shift-t especially into, over and through have so different key combinations, two with shift, one without shift. When I debug, I often use for example into-into-over-over-over-throuhg-through--into-into etc...and with the combinations cmd-e and cmd-shit-e, it is more "finger-work". It would be better to have all those shortcuts with or all shortcuts without shift. And the letters not so far away at the keyboard (e-o-t) This is only my opinion and my first impression after one day with Pharo5. I am sure, after a few days, I forgot that this was uncomfortable because I have the shortcuts coming automatically into my fingers. Is lazy evaluation of infinite series possible?

I am just learning Pharo (taking the MOOC actually!) and am wondering whether it is possible to model formal power series. I have done this in Haskell quite easily and efficiently, but struggled to do it in Python without real success. It requires one to perform operations on an infinite stream (such as multiplying two infinite power series). One then only evaluates the terms as they are needed, i.e., lazily. What should I name my nested packages?

Hello, Just a quick question as I work on refactoring and cleaning up a project I've been working on. I notice that packages like Fuel appear in nice, nested hierarchies in my code browser, with 'Core' nested under 'Fuel' even though 'Core's package name is actually Fuel-Core. I'm wondering what I have to do to get my own packages to nest similarly in the code browser beyond just naming them accordingly. Thank you, Evan

Changes file without

Hello everyone, I'm trying to execute a script from a .st file on a image whose changes file isn't writable. When i do this, I'm getting a bug with primSize... It looks like get size of the file need write access ? The exception : Primitive failed: primitive #primsize: in MultiByteFileStream Does someone have an idea of the reason of this problem please? How to load Glorp / SQLite3?

Hi All, Thanks to Estaban and everyone involved in making Glorp available in Pharo 5.0. I'm trying to work my way through the examples in the Glorp book (https://ci.inria.fr/pharo-contribution/job/PharoBookWorkInProgress/lastSucc…) but, embarrassingly, haven't got past the first step. My understanding from the book is that I load Glorp with: Metacello new smalltalkhubUser: 'DBXTalk' project: 'Garage'; configuration: 'GarageGlorp'; version: #stable; load. I've also tried loading the Glorp package with: Gofer it url: 'http://smalltalkhub.com/mc/Pharo/MetaRepoForPharo50/main'; configurationOf: 'Glorp'; loadStable but still aren't able to execute the first command in the book: GAGlorpAccessor beDefaultGlorpDriver since GAGlorpAccessor isn't in the image, or, later on: accessor := GarageDatabaseAccessor forLogin: login. accessor login. since GarageDatabaseAccessor also isn't in the image. (I was able to create the login object). What is the required sequence of Montacello / Gofer loads to be able to use Glorp with SQLite3? Thanks, Alistair (who is sure he has missed the obvious)
