Hi, yesterday I was playing with this method and found something awkward. <n> macro is expanded to CR. I was expecting that expands to the line ending of the platform, or at least to LF. Anybody knows if this have some explanation? I'm tempted to change the <n> expansion to use OSPlatform current lineEnding , and add <r> as a valid macro expanding to CR. I think it's more consistent with the general use. What do you think? If there's consensus I would create an issue and provide a Slice with the changes and some test cases. Gabriel

Broken examples (GLMExamplesBrowser) issue 16111

I think some examples in GLMExamplesBrowser In Pharo5.0 are broken. see fogbugz issue "16111 Collections being passed as a whole into blocks, instead of each individual object" The confusion about "display-block" and "format-block" is sorted out, so we could close the issue. But it seems the examples "Updateable browser" "Validating presentation" are broken (and maybe the Magritte example, but I don't know where it is).

How practical it is to do set-based comparison in TestAsserter>>assertCollection:hasSameElements: ? For example #(1 1 2) has same elements as #(1 2) which may make sense for sets, but not for bags. The main reason I was using it is that in tests the expected collection may be created by hand, which means it is very often an array #(...), { ... }, while models very often return OrderedCollections (at least in my case). So my question is --- how to compare collections irrespective of type, and possibly of order? A) always convert the actual collection toanArray B) change difference: behavior for non-sets (ton of work with catastrophic consequences) C) extend TAssertable with new methods like #assertElementsOf: actualCollection equals: expectedCollection #assertUnorderedElementsOf: actualCollection equals: expectedCollection C.a) directly in Pharo/SUnit C.b) in independend SUnit-Extensions repository/project C.c) just in my project D) stop discussing non-problems Thanks, Peter

ConfigurationOf and Git

I was wondering if something like this can work: Given a ConfigurationOfProject (a subclass of ConfigurationOf) defining: stable: spec <symbolicVersion: #stable> spec for: #'pharo4.0.x' do: [spec baseline: 'Project' with: [ spec repository: 'github://username/Project:stableForPharo4/']]. spec for: #'pharo5.0.x' do: [spec baseline: 'Project' with: [ spec repository: 'github://username/Project:stableForPharo5/']]. where stableForPharo4 and stableForPharo5 are tags in the git repo (and assuming the BaselineOfProject is defined in this commits). Is this supposed to work : Metacello new configuration: 'Project'; repository: 'github://username/Project:master'; version: #stable; load. ?? I've tried using a non-symbolic version and it works but I can't make it work for #stable. I'd like to use this configuration for the Configuration Browser/Catalog Browser. Any help is appreciated.

Question about extensions

Hi, If I browse the Fuel's package I see the True and False classes but there is no extension of Fuel on those classes. If I browse Fuel from Monticello I see True and False on *Extensions but there is nothing. Does Pharo have stream classes to binary de/serialize an object, such that the protocol accepts an object as an argument and converts it to a byteArray? -- thanks, Robert
