v 2.0 SecureSession spec
by Robert Withers May 26, 2016

May 26, 2016

Here's a link to the version 2.0 spec I've put together. It includes v2.0 start-up messages for dataEncoder negotiation (used by presentation layer) and corrections to MessageType assigned numbers for data headers, so impl and spec match. Unfortunately the impl still has a few v2.0 issues, but v1.0 and vintage are still working and will not change in the future, tough perhaps deprecated. I'd welcome any feedback on content or accuracy, if anyone had a few cycles to spare ;) Thank you for your consideration, Robert http://jmp.sh/zASyHlK

Grease ?
by Nicolai Hess May 25, 2016

May 25, 2016

There is a bug report 18324 <https://pharo.fogbugz.com/f/cases/18324/Spelling-mistakes-in-Pharo> about spelling mistakes in Pharo 5.0 I fixed them for Pharo 5, but some errors reported are for classes named GRNonPortableMessageRule, GRUsesCurlyBraceArraysRule... I guess these packages are from Grease ? Who can fix this, should we report this in another bugtracker? nicolai

Today I helped Esteban porting the 32 to 64 bits bootstrap to Pharo. It looks like we have a Pharo 64 bits image on 64 bits VM running on Mac & Linux. Here is the wonderful screenshot showing the amazing result: [image: Inline image 1]

[UFFI] Call a function where argument type is char ** (argv)
by Blondeau Vincent May 25, 2016

May 25, 2016

Hello, I have written a R bridge in Pharo and I would like to migrate it from NativeBoost to UFFI. Most of the changes are easy to do but I am stuck to a double pointer problem. I have to call the function: int Rf_initEmbeddedR(int argc, char ** argv). I know how to give the int but the char ** is a problem. With NB, I managed to have this (working) code: "This is 32bit... too bad..." strings := OrderedCollection new. par := NativeBoost allocate: 4 * params size. params keysAndValuesDo: [ :i :each | | str | str := each asNBExternalString. strings add: str. par nbUInt32AtOffset: (i - 1) * 4 put: str value ]. self prim_initEmbeddedRargc: params size argv: par ] ensure: [ "Free the memory we allocated" par ifNotNil: [ par free ]. strings ifNotNil: [ strings do: [ :each | each free ] ] ] With a primitive call: Self nbCall: #(int Rf_initEmbeddedR(int argc, char *argv)) Do I still need to create my own array of strings or FFI creates it for me? How? Thanks in advance for your answers, Vincent !!!************************************************************************************* "Ce message et les pi?ces jointes sont confidentiels et r?serv?s ? l'usage exclusif de ses destinataires. strange Zinc JPEG bug
by Peter Uhnák May 25, 2016

May 25, 2016

Hi, Offray discovered a strange Zinc bug when reading a JPEG. Not sure where to report zinc bugs⦠fogzbugz? or is it a separate project? This fails on "marker D0 cannot be handled" image := ZnEasy getJpeg: ' http://orig13.deviantart.net/e8d3/f/2013/092/a/3/glados_s_activation_by_fir… '. World backgroundImage: image layout: #scaled. but this works just fine image := (ImageReadWriter formFromStream: (ZnEasy get: ' http://orig13.deviantart.net/e8d3/f/2013/092/a/3/glados_s_activation_by_fir…') contents readStream). World backgroundImage: image layout: #scaled. Peter
