PharoLauncher - uninformative Pharo7 template names

Attached is what I see for Pharo 7 images in PharoLauncher. I presume the top one is the latest, but Its a bit hard to tell :P Anyone else seeing this? Loading ConfigurationOfPharoLauncher-ChristopheDemarey.53 (latest) and doing "ConfigurationOfPharoLauncher loadDevelopment" which loads PharoLauncher-Core-ChristopheDemarey.116 (latest) This is with Pharo builds 60486 and 60510, and same VM for both... Win32 built on May 31 2017 03:09:04 GMT Compiler: 5.4.0 VMMaker versionString VM: 201705310241 CoInterpreter VMMaker.oscog-eem.2231 uuid: de62947a-7f40-4977-a232-e06a3a80c939 May 31 2017 (but btw, does that look strange? The 60510 image was lauched from the original 60486-PharoLauncher which said it was downloading the matching VM, so I kind of expect each image to have a different VM ?? ) cheers -ben

PharoLauncher package cache Pharo 7?

Where is my package cache? I run Pharo7 from today in the launcher, and try to load Magritte. It used to be in my images directory, but that now only contains meta-inf, pharo-.version, sources changes and image Why is there a pharo-local in my vms folder? Stephan

While this is not "direct-Pharo", I think the new "headless VMs" that will be a thing in the near future will allow more "native-oriented" development and interacting with the underlying platform is needed to make the echosystem boom in that area. Some french forgotten in QualityAssistant

The packages of QualityAssistant in the catalog browser have some 'critique' instead of 'critic'. That causes some trouble. Look at ReSingleCritiqueEvent... Primitive Failed error trying openInExternalWindow

Hi, greetings! I was trying out some examples from the Pharo By Example book on the latest development version of Pharo, and I wanted to create a stand-alone window for a simple game on Ubuntu. So I found out the openInExternalWindow method, the window appears but I get this error that I couldn't understand, and could not find any reference to it online. So I'm not sure if it's a bug. The simplest way I found to reproduce it was: 'Hello' asMorph openInExternalWindow. I'm using Pharo 7 on Ubuntu 17.10. Spec independent on Morphic

Hi, as one part of preparations on switching to Bloc I tried to cut the Gordian knot of Spec and Morphic dependencies. I prepared a pull request that makes basic Spec packages, Text-Core, MenuRegistration and basic Keybinding packages independent on Morphic. We will probably need to solve some details but the most important parts are solved. Anoying bug found in Artefact running in Windows 10

Ok, Thanks to your help, the problem is solved. Nothing to do with Artefact but "imageStream := FileStream fileNamed: 'lsi-tec.jpg'." imageStream := FileSystem disk openFileStream: 'lsi-tec.jpg' writable: false. did the trick. When you insert a jpeg from a file, for some reason the file descriptor (stream) is kept open (at least in the Windows end of things). Then, if a second page is to be generated, the following error is shown: 'MessageNotUnderstood: receiver of "reset" is nil PDFJpegElement>>stream: JPEGReadWriter aJPEGReadWriter JPEGReadWriter(ImageReadWriter)>>on: nil Sample code: aPage := PDFPage new. imageStream := FileStream fileNamed: 'lsi-tec.jpg'. aPage add: ((PDFJpegElement fromStream: imageStream) from: 15 mm @ 20 mm; dimension: 40 mm @ 40 mm). imageStream close. Generated report is in annex The only way to recover is to close pharo, start it again. Then the file descriptor (stream) is released and it is possible to go on. Has anyone faced this problem?
