Build 739 breaks project load initialization order?

I have a project that loads via Metacello in builds up through build 738. In 739 the load fails with DNU. The failure is in a method I have specified via a #postLoadDoIt:. It fails because it sends a message to a pool variable, which is nil. However, it should not be nil because it should have been initialized by a class-side #initialize method in a prerequisite package. Again, this worked up through build 738. Any idea what changed in 739 that would cause this, and is this change intentional? Thanks, -Martin

Writing into stream from another stream

Hi. Do we have simple method to write data between streams? I want something like: writeStream nextPutAllFrom: readStream I always used loop for this. But maybe we have something suitable. Otherwise lets introduce it. Best regards, Denis

Pharo application packager for OS X

Hi, At this time, we do not have a utility to easily create an OS X application (dmg or pkg) from a Pharo image. It would be nice to have a tool like javapackager[1] but for Pharo. What does javapackager? It creates a pkg installer for OS X. At the end of the installation, you get an OS X application (you can specify the name, the icon, the version) that embed the JRE, the application jar file, the plist file, the resources, and a binary that I guess is small wrapper used to run the jre with adequate parameters. You can see at [2] how it is esay to build an app (even possible to sign it). I would like to have the same utility for a Pharo app. Instead of shipping a jar + the JRE, we ship Pharo VM + the image file. Nevertheless, I do not know a lot on OS X and I do not know what to do to create a wrapper for Pharo like the one of pkg installer. Does anyone have an interest to create it or can give information to build it? [Reflectivity] change regarding announcement in Pharo7

Hi, One questionable (but practical) thing that MetaLinks have is that they announce (MetalinkChanged) when they are installed or uninstalled. This is nice for being able to show them in the UI (and e.g. the Watcher implemented with them). But it is very very slowâ¦ so I now made it an option: https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo/pull/1160 <https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo/pull/1160> it is by default off, but can be turned on reflectively at any point. e.g. the link of the execution counter now looks like this: link := MetaLink new metaObject: self; selector: #increase; optionAnnounce: true. It has announcing enable so that the browser refreshes when it gets added or removed. Marcus

Some segfault crashes and freezes when trying to re-run saved pharo 7 images

Hello, I've had a few issues with Pharo 7 lately. After downloading pharo 7 images, doing some work in them and saving them, the images either instantly crashe or freeze when I try to re-run them. If that helps, I was working with and on the calypso browser. Attached are the crash dump files from some of these faulty images. vm version: 201708271955 image version: 6521 OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Cheers, Thomas
