Esteban's ChangeLog week of 21 May 2018
by estebanlm＠gmail.com May 28, 2018

May 28, 2018

Hello! This is my weekly ChangeLog, from 21 May 2018 to 27 May 2018. You can see it in a better format by going here: http://log.smallworks.eu/web/search?from=21/5/2018&to=27/5/2018 ChangeLog ========= 23 May 2018: ------------ * I fixed an annoying issue when using +OSWindowWorldMorph+, [case: 21957](https://pharo.fogbugz.com/f/cases/21957). The problem was this: when using an altearnative world (like the one provided by OSWindow), +DisplayScreen class>>actualScreenSize+ is answering a random value. Even worst when you use it with Ronie's headless VM. Right now, this is invisible for 99.99% of users, but in the future it will be a good thing to have it working. cheers! Esteban

New taskbar design proposal
by Cyril Ferlicot D. May 27, 2018

May 27, 2018

Hi, I always had some problems with Pharo taskbar. The first one is that it is trasparent. It takes the whole width of Pharo but only the taskbar items are visible. This is bad because we have impression that we can click on the world at the bottom right of Pharo, but we cannot. Also I did not like the style. I think we can do something that looks more current. In order to ease modifications of the taskbar style I updated Pharo to add customization points to the theme for the taskbar. With the help of the community I also corrected some bugs in the pluggable button morph that made style changes hard. (The last one I found should be corrected in this PR: https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo/pull/1384) Now that it's easier to propose new designs I would like to propose a new one. It is present on this PR: https://github.com/pharo-project/pharo/pull/1443 You can see that change following this link. I added 2 GIF showing the result with the light and dark theme. I would like to have the opinion of the community before this PR is integrated/rejected. Have a nice day. -- Cyril Ferlicot https://ferlicot.fr

ZeroConf and Launcher
by Torsten Bergmann May 27, 2018

May 27, 2018

ZeroConf (get.pharo.org) is nice - as it allows to easily setup a new machine with a fresh image. What about having the ability to download the latest Launcher using a zeroconf script too?
