To install MC1.5 into Pharo, do the following steps. ScriptLoader new installingInstaller. Preferences disable: #showDeprecationWarnings. Installer install: 'LPF'. Preferences enable: #showDeprecationWarnings. This installs the following 4 patches: #234, #235, #580, #581 -- Damien Cassou http://damiencassou.seasidehosting.st

[Pharo-project] Fonts in Pharo
by Alexandre Bergel Feb. 17, 2009

Feb. 17, 2009

Dear Gary and his team, I am truly delighted to see that a native font may be installed. This is really cool! Very snappy as well. I have a suggestion. Probably you though about it, but let me try :-) Each time I open an image, the cache is checked. I guess this is to prevent a change in the host OS. However, could the cache be checked only if the font saved in the image does not exist at startup? The cache could be explicitly checked when opening the font browser. I guess you though about it already, but just to make sure. Cheers, Alexandre -- _,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;: Alexandre Bergel http://www.bergel.eu ^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;.

The following three issues have fixes in the Inbox. These fixes will help integration of MC1.5. Syntax Error dialogs raise more errors than does the calling Parser http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=234 MC1.5 overrides methods in HTTPSocket http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=580 ClassOrganizer categories breaks if given an empty array http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=581 -- Damien Cassou http://damiencassou.seasidehosting.st

As I understand it, KernelExtensions was a bunch of unrelated changes in the image. This package has been divided into multiple mantis issues. Also, the Null pattern is not necessary anymore to get MC15. Please Keith correct me. -- Damien Cassou http://damiencassou.seasidehosting.st

[Pharo-project] LogicalFont deepCopy infinite loop with Arial font
by Alain Plantec Feb. 16, 2009

Feb. 16, 2009

Hi all, I would like to improve the PreferencesBrowser so that it includes standard Fonts preferences (see joined snapshot). It's almost done except that, if a preference font is set to Arial, clicking on Save button leads to an infinite loop. To reproduce it, set button font to Arial-12 and Preferences standardButtonFont deepCopy. Cheers alain

Check for a =, ==, ~=, or ~~ message being sent to true/false or with true/false as the argument. Many times these can be eliminated since their receivers are already booleans. For example, "anObject isFoo == false" could be replaced with "anObject isFoo not" if isFoo always returns a boolean. Sometimes variables might refer to true, false, and something else, but this is considered bad style since the variable has multiple types.
