by Torsten Bergmann April 1, 2009

April 1, 2009

It crashes with the universe installer: The web location has a ~ sign (unix server) in it with a previous / character: So: 'http://foo.bar/~test' asUrl will crash in printString now (see inspector) while 'http://foo.bar~test' asUrl will not. [Pharo-project] Build, send and comment on Plugins page
by Torsten Bergmann April 1, 2009

April 1, 2009

There is a new page on the pharo website [1] with an overview on all plugins available for squeak and pharo. Plugins should be easily downloadable so one dont has to rebuild them from scratch again and again. This is especially for newbies with no knowledge of the tool chain to build plugins. Feel free to send comments and build/send plugins for the various OS platforms. The page is maintained by m.rueger at acm.org Thank Torsten [1] http://code.google.com/p/pharo/wiki/VMPluginOverview [2] http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/pipermail/pharo-project/2009-March/007231.html -- Neu: GMX FreeDSL Komplettanschluss mit DSL 6.000 Flatrate + Telefonanschluss für nur 17,95 Euro/mtl.!* http://dsl.gmx.de/?ac=OM.AD.PD003K11308T4569a

[Pharo-project] Plugins overview

Stéphane Ducasse wrote: > If you want that I try it tell me where I can find it. > Then another question is > what is the fallback if people do not have the plugin (I mean > something else than getting a primitive failed). Dear Santa, it would be nice to have a page on the pharo-project website with an overview and downloadable precompiled versions of all the plugins available. Name ! Win32 ! Mac ! Linux ! ------------------------------------------------------- OSProcess ! OSProcessPlugin.dll ! ... ! ... ! SqueakFFIPrims ! SqueakFFIPrims.dll ! ! ! ... I know that in Squeakland everybody works on a dev-machine with the latest compiler and vmmaker tool chain installed - but in the pharo land things should be more accessible (from a website). Thanks T. -- Neu: GMX FreeDSL Komplettanschluss mit DSL 6.000 Flatrate + Telefonanschluss für nur 17,95 Euro/mtl.!* http://dsl.gmx.de/?ac=OM.AD.PD003K11308T4569a

[Pharo-project] Seaside hosting alternatives
by Mariano Martinez Peck March 31, 2009

March 31, 2009

Hi folks, I was wondering which are the seaside hosting alternatives in the market. 1) free ? I only know seasidehosting.st but this, only support squeak 3.9.1. I would love to use pharo. Is any other free ? 2) pharo support ? any ? is on the plans of pharo getting a free pharo seaside hosting ? 3) For non commercial but with needs of several pictures o commercial application, any alternatives ? how much ? how can I contact them. I tried to google a bit but didn't get any real results. I think hosting is a very very important think for most of us. Is one on the think I put into account when deciding the technology to use. Thanks a lot in advance. Mariano

I assume the tentative (March Beta and May release) schedule on the Pharo Project website may need some minor adjustments? -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Pharo-tentative-schedule-roadmap-....-tp2560092p256009… Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Pharo-project] Issue #684 Recent Morphic Changesets
by Rob Rothwell March 30, 2009

March 30, 2009

Hi all, I got tired of filing in HaloMorphRefactoring and PluggableTextMorph-scrollSelectionIntoView with every new update, so I published a Morphic package Morphic-rob_rothwell.290 in the inbox with these changes after upgrading to version 10259. Just fixes the non-transparent HaloMorph and non-scrolling edit window when selecting text. Take care, Rob
