[Pharo-project] little tools support to better browse the squeaktrunk
by Stéphane Ducasse Sept. 11, 2009

Sept. 11, 2009

Hi all to push the closure fixes I needed to browse the squeak trunk so I added ScriptLoader new addExtraRepositories so that all the packages get their 3.9a histories and that we can in one click browse the squeak repository. As a test I will integrate some fixes done on the MC browser and other MC related features. I will document that of course in our nice bugtracker. Stef

[Pharo-project] namespace collisions
by Chris Muller Sept. 10, 2009

Sept. 10, 2009

Does Pharo have namespaces? If not, may I request that we remember to apply due consideration when choosing names for globals, including class-variables? The top version of ScriptLoader in the Pharo repository consumes the name #Repository, preventing any class or global from using that name. I am now faced with a namespace collision with another package that wants to declare a class named Repository. A class-var in "ScriptLoader" really doesn't need to consume such a valuable name does it? Can this be renamed to something more specific to free up that name? - Chris

[Pharo-project] Fwd: call for bug hunters
by Stéphane Ducasse Sept. 10, 2009

Sept. 10, 2009

Hi even if we integrated the fixes of eliot to fix the ordering class var by MC I still see this behavior: from time to time I get more packages touched just because the order of classVar changes. And now this is a problem when trying to integrate the last fixes issued for the block closure. So I would really appreciate if someone would give a try to fix that. I just have the time to integrate some pending fixes. Stef

[Pharo-project] [update] #10444
by Stéphane Ducasse Sept. 10, 2009

Sept. 10, 2009

10444 ----- - Issue 1201: mantis 7373 -2.0 isInf is true ... Fix for -2.0 isInf = true http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=1201 http://bugs.squeak.org/view.php?id=7373 The fix deprecates #isInf and use #isInfinite instead - Issue 1205: Last bits of Player cleaning - Issue 1193: Monticello save-dialogue plague for dependents This fix stops MC from asking for a log message for every dependent of the package that you are saving. Instead, it re-uses the log message from the parent. - Issue 1134: Repeated Author Initials Inquiry thanks guys!

[Pharo-project] strange behavior meta click
by Chris Kassopulo Sept. 10, 2009

Sept. 10, 2009

Greetings, I've installed Pharo, both the one click and separate package installs on my Ubuntu box and updated to 10442. Nothing responds to meta click except the menus. If I bring up a menu and meta click anywhere on the screen I get a halo around the menu. Also, the one click image has the meta and action click buttons opposite. Anyone else on linux see this behavior? Chris

Re: [Pharo-project] new bugs for problems encountered during ImageSegment >>swapOutInactiveClasses
by sheridan＠sheridan-mahoney.com Sept. 10, 2009

Sept. 10, 2009

Hi all, I don't think I've seen people write mail to this list whenever there is a new bug, but since it was mentioned in my earlier posts, I just wanted to get closure: 1203 ---- New ThreadSafeTranscript(Object)>>doesNotUnderstand: #print: 1204 ---- New ByteString(Object)>>error:'Improper store into indexable object' If there's a better way, I'd be happy to know of it. Thanks, and Cheers, Sheri (aka Sheridan)

[Pharo-project] one click - Pharo.ini
by Torsten Bergmann Sept. 9, 2009

Sept. 9, 2009

hi Marcus, you have to add the following line ImageFile=Contents\Resources\pharo1.0-10440-BETAdev09.09.1.image at the end of the Pharo.ini file. (the *.ini from the packaged VM does not include that, similar to the squeak vm) Now one should be able to click on Pharo.exe and the system starts with the correct image. Note that you have to adapt it anytime you have a new image Bye Torsten -- GRATIS für alle GMX-Mitglieder: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT! Jetzt freischalten unter http://portal.gmx.net/de/go/maxdome01
