[Pharo-project] Last failing tests in OB and EC
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 15, 2010

Jan. 15, 2010

Hi: Sorry to bother you again, I am tryng to get all green tests for next PharoDev image. I have one test failing in OB and one in EC ECUntypedModelTest >> testNarrowWith fails in self assert: count > 100. because count is 98 OBButtonBarTest >> testLayout fails in self assert: rects third right <= bar right because "rects third right " is 402 and "bar right" is 400. Any ideas how to make them green or remove them if are obsolete? Thanks Mariano

There is also the World's smallest drawing program http://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/126 which has to be adapted due to sensor changes (take care it is dog slow compared to squeak): | myPen | myPen := Pen new defaultNib: 2. myPen up. myPen goto: Sensor cursorPoint. myPen down. [Sensor waitButton. Sensor yellowButtonPressed] whileFalse: [Sensor redButtonPressed ifTrue: [myPen goto: Sensor cursorPoint]]. -- Jetzt kostenlos herunterladen: Internet Explorer 8 und Mozilla Firefox 3.5 - sicherer, schneller und einfacher! http://portal.gmx.net/de/go/atbrowser

[Pharo-project] MC case sensitity and sub-packages
by Schwab,Wilhelm K Jan. 15, 2010

Jan. 15, 2010

Brian and others have told me that I could expect to define packages such as DolphinCompatibility-ODBC DolphinCompatibility-Streams and save them all using DolphinCompatibility, or save just one specific part by giving the full name, such as DolphinCompatibility-ODBC. I was unable to make it work reliably, and I think I might have just figured out why. Assertion: package names and class names must agree up to case; method categories (*packageName-etc) appear to be more forgiving. It further appears that once one messes up by naming a category and package Dolphincompatibility instead of DolphinCompatibility, the only way to fix it is to delete the working copy of the package and re-create it with the correct case after renaming the category, or something like that. Does that sound right? Am I missing something that might cost me later? Bill

[Pharo-project] Regex regression?
by Schwab,Wilhelm K Jan. 15, 2010

Jan. 15, 2010

A lot is happening, so I could be off here. In the 10496 web image, I noted that there might be problems with the regex package. Now trying to build a new image I hit a walkback over '*username*' asRegex Any other takers? I am seeing this problem in both 10496 and the new RC1 on the download page. Bill

It would be nice if the tutorial would take place in a syntax highlighted workspace (Shout). Just place the text in comments. While the reference to PrStef makes insiders smile I would rather name it "Tutorial" or "Intro". [Pharo-project] ConfigurationOfNile ready but failing and error tests
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 15, 2010

Jan. 15, 2010

Hi folks: I created a ConfigurationOfNile that you can find in MetacelloRepository. The weird thing is that I need to load first the tests (before Base and Clients) because otherwise there is a compile error with traits when trying to load Nile-Clients. To install it: Gofer new squeaksource: 'MetacelloRepository'; package: 'ConfigurationOfNile'; load. ((Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfNile) project version: '1.0') load The other problem is that there are 3 failures and 11 errors. I attach screenshot. Can someone fix them ? (even if the solution is to remove them). Take into account that with this configuration, I don't use Nile-All at all. Cheers Mariano
