[Pharo-project] Failing Gofer test in windows [WAS] [BetaTesting] [ANN] Pharo1.0-10507-rc2dev10.01.2
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 26, 2010

Jan. 26, 2010

> I cannot reproduce the Gofer test failure. Can you debug it and/or > provide a stack trace? > > Ok...I put off the dust from my virtual box image with windows and I could reproduce the problem. GoferApiTest >> testSubDirectoryRepository fails in self assert: gofer repositories: (Array with: FileDirectory default pathName , FileDirectory slash , '*') Because in assert: aGofer repositories: anArray I can see that: "first description" is -> 'C:\mariano\squeak\imagenes\Pharo1.0-10508-rc2dev10.01.2/*' and "second" is -> 'C:\mariano\squeak\imagenes\Pharo1.0-10508-rc2dev10.01.2\*' Notice the last slash. They are different. [Pharo-project] help with removing a file
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 26, 2010

Jan. 26, 2010

Hi folks. I don't want other than green tests in dev images, thus, I started to fix them as much as possible. There are a lot of failing tests of Nile (only fail in windows). The test is NSCompressedSourceStreamTest and I noticed something weird. If you look to tearDown method, it tries to remove two files that it actually were created in the setUp method. But it is weird because it tries to remove a file that actually exist and it is not being removed. If I debug in DosFileDirectory >> deleteFileNamed: localFileName ifAbsent: failBlock everything looks ok, but the file is not removed and the failBlock is executed :( localFileName -> 'testCompressedSourceStream.stc' (self fullNameFor: localFileName) asVmPathName -> 'C:\mariano\squeak\imagenes\Pharo1.0-10508-rc2dev10.01.2\testCompressedSourceStream.stc' And that file exist, as you can see in screenshot that I attach. Can someone help me with this ? Cheers Mariano

[Pharo-project] About ScriptManager [ WAS] How do I save the contents of a Workspace?
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 26, 2010

Jan. 26, 2010

Hi: I didn't know ScriptManager, but seems to be very cool. I remember having something VERYYYY similar in VAST. However, in this case it was cooler becuase it was stored in the "user slot" of ENVY. So, it doesn't matter which image to take you always have it there. But here I can export it to a file...so it is cool. I think that with a bit of work and test, we can include it in future Dev images. What do you think ? Torsten: I would be cool to fix the underscore assignments on it. I also found a little bug: - Choose a folder, put export, and then cancel. You will have a DNU beep. You already pointed that here: http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=410 So....you can just change it to Beeper beep :) Cheers Mariano ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Hernán Morales Durand <hernan.morales(a)gmail.com> Date: Tue, Jan 26, 2010 at 2:55 AM Subject: Re: [Pharo-project] [newbee] How do I save the contents of a Workspace? To: Pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr Hi Alex, Notice that you don't need files to save workspaces, you may like the ScriptManager package, to install simply evaluate: Gofer new squeaksource: 'DeveloperWorkspace'; package: 'ScriptManager'; load. and open it from Tools -> More -> Script Manager Cheers, Hernán 2009/12/16 alesch <alex(a)schenkman.info>: > > I remember I used a menu item in Squeak, but I cannot find in Pharo. > > Thanks! > -- > View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/newbee-How-do-I-save-the-contents-of-a-Workspace-tp417… > Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > > _______________________________________________ > Pharo-project mailing list > Pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr > http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pharo-project > _______________________________________________ Pharo-project mailing list Pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr http://lists.gforge.inria.fr/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pharo-project

by nullPointer Jan. 25, 2010

Jan. 25, 2010

I want know if exists some way or mechanism for input data in a widget of a specific type. For example a textbox with only numbers ( decimals or only integers ) or some mechanism of mask edit for fill a text in a textbox of "type" DateTime ?? I´m developing a grid widget and I need in each column define a type of data. With strings is easy but for another values i don´t know do it. As always excuse me for my poor english, and regards. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Input-different-data-types-integers-or-datetimes-in-a-… Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Pharo-project] Speaking of Gofer
by Dale Henrichs Jan. 25, 2010

Jan. 25, 2010

I would like to create a ConfigurationOfGofer that would be used by ConfigurationOfMetacello. Currently ConfigurationOfMetacello references gofer by explicit package versions for Gofer-core and Gofer-Tests and those versions may not match the Gofer that is used in the Core. If we had a ConfigurationOfGofer, whose Gofer-Core and Gofer-Tests versions was in synch with the versions installed in the Pharo core, then there'd be no danger of version mismatch between Gofer-Core and Gofer-Tests ... It would also be useful for updating to a later version of Gofer (with bugfixes etc.) with or without ConfigurationOfMetacello... Dale

[Pharo-project] Mac VM 5.4b1 ships
by John M McIntosh Jan. 25, 2010

Jan. 25, 2010

I've push the latest cocoa based 32/64bit & 64/64bit macintel/powerpc VM 5.4b1 This includes the logic for the microsecond clock, to call the clock the change set is attached. I've also built the 64/64bit VM for Intel that works with 64bit squeak images. Look for the folder experimental/64bits in the regular places found via http://smalltalkconsulting.com/squeak.html or ftp://ftp.smalltalkconsulting.com/experimental/64bit/ or http://homepage.mac.com/johnmci/FileSharing.html click to experimental, 64bits In a sub folder the file names are: Squeak 64-32 5.4b1.app.zip or Squeak 64-64 5.4b1.app.zip This *beta* VM runs in 32 or 64 bit mode on macIntel, and 32bit mode on powerpc to support Squeak 32bit images. Includes the freetype plugin, and requires os-x 10.5 or higher. The *beta* 64/64 VM runs only in 64 bit mode on macIntel to support Squeak 64bit images. It does not include FreeType at this time, and it requires os-x 10.5 or higher. -- =========================================================================== John M. [Pharo-project] Mac VM 5.4b2 ships
by John M McIntosh Jan. 25, 2010

Jan. 25, 2010

I've push the latest cocoa based 32/64bit macintel/powerpc Squeak VM 5.4b2 There seemed to be a drawing problem, which pointed to an issue with the definition of drawRect:, this should be fixed. Fixed the open file dialog so that it only lets you open *.image files, versus *.changes Fixed an issue with leaking NSCursors on cursor changes. I altered the behaviour of the resize window box, now when you click it changes the cursor back to an arrow. Look for the VM in the regular places found via http://smalltalkconsulting.com/squeak.html or ftp://ftp.smalltalkconsulting.com/ or http://homepage.mac.com/johnmci/FileSharing.html Squeak 64-32 5.4b2.app.zip This *beta* VM runs in 32 or 64 bit mode on macIntel, and 32bit mode on powerpc to support Squeak 32bit images. Includes the freetype plugin, and requires os-x 10.5 or higher. -- =========================================================================== John M.
