Try from the browser, or evaluate: foo := Object subclass: #Foo instanceVariableNames: '' classVariableNames: '' poolDictionaries: '' category: 'Whatever'. foo addInstVarName: 'bar'. foo class addInstVarName: 'classBar'. then O2CmdCopyClass new copyClass: Foo as: 'Foo2' result:- classBar is not defined in Foo2. [Pharo-project] Pretty print doesn't work in OB [WAS] Re: [squeak-dev] Re: Code Formatting

If you take the last PharoDev, select a method and press "format", just nothing happens. Can you reproduce it ? Thanks Mariano

Don't be shame, just report the issues. Thanks Stan!!! Be aware that that code will load just O2 (the core), without code completion, refactoring integration, etc. If you want the complete O2 you should install it in this way: ((Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfO2) project version: '1.0') load: 'Dev' Cheers Mariano

He also noticed that SqueakSource doesn't show Aida6.0.mcz in itls list of pacakges .. it does show up in http://www.squeaksource.com/Aida. Presumably Metacello thinks Aida6.0 is a base name and finds a 'later' version in the repository: Aida6.0-beta.2.mcz, which is not intended. I will take a closer look at this. Dale

[Pharo-project] Failing OB tests in Windows (and fix)
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 27, 2010

Jan. 27, 2010

Hi Lukas: There are 4 tests that were failing in Windows and I debugged them. The tests are the 4 tests of the class OBKeyBindingsTest The problem in windows is this. In your tests, you do: modifier: mod keycode: code ^ KeyboardEvent new setType: 'keystroke' buttons: mod position: 123 @ 456 keyValue: code charCode: code hand: nil stamp: nil As you can see, you don't set a codeScan (it is nil). In Paragraph >> dispatchOnKeyEvent: keyEvent with: typeAheadStream You do "OSPlatform current virtualKey: keyEvent scanCode." In mac, everything is ok as it uses the method OSPlatform >> virtualKey: virtualKeyCode "Subclass responsibility to override if necessary" ^nil But in Windows, it uses: virtualKey: virtualKeyCode "Win32Platform virtualKey: $C charCode" (virtualKeyCode <= 90 "$Z charCode" and: [virtualKeyCode >= 65 "$A "]) ifFalse: [^nil]. "#($a $b $c $d $e $f $g $h $i $j $k $l $m $n $o $p $q $r $s $t $u $v $w $x $y $z)" ^(#($a nil $c $d nil $f $g nil nil nil nil $l $m $n nil $p nil nil $s nil nil $v nil $x nil $z) at: virtualKeyCode-64) ifNotNil: [:char | char charCode] There, is a DNU as nil (virtualKeyCode) dnu: <= So, the solution I think is to set a scanCode in the keyEvents you generate in the tests. I don't know which number is correct for each type of event, but I tried just with 0 and tests are green. modifier: mod keycode: code ^ KeyboardEvent new setType: 'keystroke' buttons: mod position: 123 @ 456 keyValue: code charCode: code hand: nil stamp: nil; scanCode: 0 What do you think? is there a better fix ? Cheers Mariano

Tomorrow afternoon we will have a meeting with inria lawyers to get advice for the creation of a foundation. If you have any questions suggestions... please let us know. We want something autonomous from ESUG. :) A real legal entity. Stef

[Pharo-project] Problem with Proxy in 1.1
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 27, 2010

Jan. 27, 2010

Hi Alain. I am behind a proxy that requires user and password. In 1.0, I used to evaluate this: HTTPSocket useProxyServerNamed: '10.100.1.4' port: 9090 proxyUser: 'XXX' password: 'YYY' or even (because IP and port was detected automatically) HTTPSocket proxyUser: 'XXX' password: 'YYY'. Now, in 1.1 I tried to do it from the settings, but I only have IP and port. No fields for username and password. I tried everything, but I couldn't make it work :( I tried, for example, this: NetworkSystemSettings proxyUser: 'XXX'; proxyPassword: 'YYY'; useNetworkAuthentification: true Do you know how can I achieve this ? Thanks Mariano

[Pharo-project] Unloading Metacello !!! [WAS] RC2, Metacello and image building
by Mariano Martinez Peck Jan. 27, 2010

Jan. 27, 2010

Hi Folks. Just a little tip. I guess Dale will ANN in next Metacello version, but for those who doesn't want to wait :) Read the above mail !!! Now there is support to unload of Metacello itself. I can create a ConfigurationOfMyApplication that I use to load all my necessary stuff in a code (runtime) image, and then Metacello disappear. I use metacello to create the image, but then I unload it. Like a builder: it helps to build and then we work is finished we goes out not occupy space in your just new little house :) Cheers Mariano On Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 9:09 PM, Dale Henrichs <dale.henrichs(a)gemstone.com>wrote: > I've just committed a new version of ConfigurationOfMetacello > (ConfigurationOfMetacello-DaleHenrichs.149) with the class-side method > #unloadMetacello implemented using the aforementioned Gofer script. > > The template config has the class-side method #unloadMetacello (available > when 1.0-beta.23 is released) implemented as follows: > > unloadMetacello > Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfMetacello ifPresent: [:cls | cls > unloadMetacello ] > > This method can be added to existing configs and then used in the load > method or build scripts as desired. > > Dale > > ----- "Stéphane Ducasse" <stephane.ducasse(a)inria.fr> wrote: > > | Yes this is cool idea. > | > | Bla unload = unload myself and disappear > | > > | > > | > | Something like this: > | > | > | > | #(Metacello-Core Metacello-MC Metacello-Platform .... ) > | > | do: [ :each | (MCPackage named: each) unload ]. > | > | > | > > | > For unloading just Metacello, this gofer script works: > | > > | > | gofer | > | > gofer := Gofer new. > | > MCWorkingCopy allManagers do: [:wc | > | > (wc packageName beginsWith: 'Metacello') > | > ifTrue: [ gofer package: wc packageName ]]. > | > gofer unload. > | > > | > > | > Even better :) > | > > | > So...could that little piece of code be part of some method on > | Metacello ? or those who want that just need to evaluate that or put > | it, for example, as class side method in their own Configuration ? > | waybe we can add it to the configuartion template ? by Dale Henrichs Jan. 27, 2010

Jan. 27, 2010

I've just committed a new version of ConfigurationOfMetacello (ConfigurationOfMetacello-DaleHenrichs.149) with the class-side method #unloadMetacello implemented using the aforementioned Gofer script. The template config has the class-side method #unloadMetacello (available when 1.0-beta.23 is released) implemented as follows: unloadMetacello Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfMetacello ifPresent: [:cls | cls unloadMetacello ] This method can be added to existing configs and then used in the load method or build scripts as desired.
