[Pharo-project] about NumberParser
by Stéphane Ducasse Feb. 13, 2010

Feb. 13, 2010

Hi nicolas I like the idea to have an easy to customize parser number. Do you have a slice that I could integrate once your changes are done. Or show I go in squeak trunk and take the code? I imagine that we could then package FORTRAN and ExtendedNumberParser in a different package. http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=1960 Stef

[Pharo-project] Fraction>>adaptToScaledDecimal:andSend:
by Stéphane Ducasse Feb. 13, 2010

Feb. 13, 2010

Hi nicolas I saw that you are working on squeak on Fraction and ScaledDecimal. How is it related to the change we discussed a while ago about Float? How squeak deals with the fact that scaledDecimal was not MIT (if I remember correctly)? I would like to avoid to diverge too quickly on numbers :) Stef

Page order is now defined using a method #pages. Also more help texts are added. Just try: --------------------------------------------------------- Gofer new squeaksource: 'MetacelloRepository'; package: 'ConfigurationOfHelpSystem'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfHelpSystem) load. HelpSystem reset. HelpBrowser open --------------------------------------------------------- Have fun, T. -- Sicherer, schneller und einfacher. Also see http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=1258 '.1' asNumber toss an error in Pharo 1.1 11043 and '1.0e+2' asNumber returns 1.0 yet other I think more knowledgeable people say http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1.0e%2B2 100 I'd just say any expectations of converting a string to a number in most flavours of Squeak should be viewed with suspicion. [Pharo-project] [ANN] HelpSystem (was ProfStef)
by Torsten Bergmann Feb. 12, 2010

Feb. 12, 2010

>How do you reorder the pages ? with pagexxx ? No, currently there is no order. As I wrote - we have to find a way. Either by providing a #pages method with the order pages #(pageMethod1 pageMethod2 ...) or by enumerating using the pragma in any method pageMethod <help: 'hello' nr: 2> First one is easier to maintain/restructure. Currently it's the order in which pragmas are given (see the code) which I think is undefined. Maybe someone has another idea. Bye T. -- GRATIS für alle GMX-Mitglieder: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT! (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfHelpSystem) load Project lives on http://squeaksource.com/HelpSystem.html (Read/Write) If it evolves we can include it into a dev image. Needs improvements, but is a start. Dont know if pragmas or a #pages method would be the way to go to define page order, ...
