by Alexandre Bergel April 28, 2010

April 28, 2010

Pharo image: core 1.1 Pharo core version: Latest update: #11323 Virtual machine used: OSX Steps to reproduce: 1. Do a software update 2. The system will always tell you that no update were done, where it has actually. by the way, couldn't 'software update' be renamed 'Pharo update' ? http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=2365 Cheers, Alexandre -- _,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;: Alexandre Bergel http://www.bergel.eu ^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;.

[Pharo-project] Problem with window cycling (cmd + narrow)
by Mariano Martinez Peck April 28, 2010

April 28, 2010

I think there is a bug in the windows cycling. Or maybe I don't understand it anymore. I remembered I used to press cmd + narrow and the popup raised and then I could choose slowly which windows I wanted. But now, after pressing cmd + left arrow for example, the popup raise, but very quickly disappear. Giving me now time even to look at the current opened windows. I guess this is a bug. What do you think ? I tested in Pharo1.0 rc3 and Pharo 11309. I think this bug is different but related to issue 2289. Cheers Mariano

[Pharo-project] Strange bug
by Cyrille Delaunay April 28, 2010

April 28, 2010

Hello, Last week I had a error due to a strange behaviour: I had an instance variable and an accessor to this instance variable. The instance variable is instanciated at the initialization of the class. When the error occure, the instance variable is not nil (when inspecting it from the debugger ). But, when evaluating the accessor, it return nil. This occure in the pharo 1.0 dev image. I test it this morning on a clean image and on a click image with moose. It seems that the bug is specific to moose. If you want to reproduce it: Download the last version of Merlin from www.squeaksource.com/DelaunayTmpStuffs. run the method MerlinExamples class >> parametrizedMorphDropLists. it should work correctly. Now restart, load moose (load ConfigurationOfMoose, and evaluate 'ConfigurationOfMoose loadDefault') and then load Merlin from 'DelaunayTmpStuffs'. It should raise an error and you should be able to see this strange behaviour. From the debugger, evaluate 'self dropList' in MorphDropListPart. After showing this bug to Marcus, it seems that something is not weel compiled at one point: browse the method 'dropList' in dropListPart. Now, click on 'view' and 'byte code'. The offset indicated is 10 whereas it should be 15

[Pharo-project] Condensing Changes File
by Alexandre Bergel April 28, 2010

April 28, 2010

Hi! Apparently, the change file cannot be condensed in Core 1.1 anymore. I am the only one to experience this? Mariano, maybe we could remove temporarily the change condensing from ConfigurationOfPharo? Cheers, Alexandre -- _,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;: Alexandre Bergel http://www.bergel.eu ^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;._,.;:~^~:;.

Re: [Pharo-project] [Pharo-users] Traits versus packages
by Alexandre Bergel April 28, 2010

April 28, 2010

Stef is right. The only kind of class extension that can be easily packaged is method addition and override, sadly.
