by Noury Bouraqadi July 1, 2010

July 1, 2010

Dear Smalltalkers, The dead-line for registration at early bird fees is approaching (one month to go). So, hurry up and register on our new seaside-based server. http://registration.esug.org/ This server comes with new features. You can now do a group registration and make a single payment. Also, we have reduction tickets (typically for Golden and Platinum sponsors). The ESUG 2010 conference program is about to be ready, and it is as promising as was for the previous editions of the conference. Checkout the preliminary schedule is already on the web, http://www.esug.org/Conferences/2010 See you in Barcelona, Noury ESUG treasurer

Any Linux and modern OS has that. Maybe you should drive this forward and send appropriate code. Gary could have a look and integrate it into Polymorph UI. [Pharo-project] [OT] Interesting light bulb
by Torsten Bergmann July 1, 2010

July 1, 2010

Maybe this new "light bulb" can be a step after the laptop/webpad/dynabook. In the future we dont need hardware in our bags, it can just be around us. [Pharo-project] CLFramework-UIBuilder
by nullPointer July 1, 2010

July 1, 2010

i published the CLFramework package http://www.squeaksource.com/CLFramework.html Is totally alpha version, not valid for serious apps. The set of widgets of Polymoprh adapteds to designer is limited, and don´t works with normal mechanism as MorphicModel, else with events. I´m continue working in it, but I have arrived at crossroads, where i think is best create my own set of widgets, from zero, or perhaps be more ambitious and try use 3d... i dont know; my knowledges is limited. I added new features; can be viewed here: Inlaying a view into another http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0dSuunKbEM Adding external files (images only) for use in UIBuilder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXvwieFA_4k Building a context menu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cilG97m4u2g For probe the designer only type view := CLUIBuilderMainForm new show. in a workspace. I want to be thankful to Jordi Delgado and Citilab for Smalltalk initiative and lessons, and future events ( ESUG 2010 :) ) Regards -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/CLFramework-UIBuilder-tp3594252p3594252.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Pharo-project] Strange behavior (bug) of wrapping text with TTFont (russian text) in TextMorph
by Denis Kudriashov July 1, 2010

July 1, 2010

I use Pharo 1.1 rc2 10.06 I found strange behavior of wrapping text with TTFont (russian text) in TextMorph. I dont know how to reproduce it. But I see it in my application. I have prototype button with TextMorph as it label. And I do many of: aPanel add: prototype veryDeepCopy contentsWrapped: someRussianText. And I see that text on label dont wrapped by words. It is wrapped only by label bounds. And words in text became break. Example. I expect "one two three" But I see "one two th ree " Its work correct for english text. But for russian not. And I cant reproduce it by execution code separetelly from my application (aPanel add: prototype veryDeepCopy contentsWrapped: someRussianText). I try many experiments with debuger and inspector. But I cant fix that. Wrapping text code is not simple. Maybe somebody tell me what place I need learn/inspect for fixing this bug? And I found that If I insert char by keyboard at the end of word "two" (see example) text wrapped correctly: "one twoNEW three " And this behavior correct in Pharo 1.0.
