[Pharo-project] Help - Understanding OBSystemBrowser
by Germán Leiva Aug. 14, 2010

Aug. 14, 2010

Hi everyone, I'm trying to add one column in the navigationPanel (I'll extend OBSystemBrowser, just for the examples lets say OBMySystemBrowser) The current behaviour is (from left to right) [image: 4columns.png] || Column A || Column B || Column C || Column D || || Categories in Smalltalk globals || Classes in the selected category || Method categories of the selected class || Methods in the selected method category || I want to add a column in the left (the column that has Trulala1) , *and maintain the behaviour of the columns 2 to 5 * * * *|| Column 1 || Column 2 || Column 3 || Column 4 || Column 5 ||* || Environments in Smalltalk || Column A (Categories in the selected environment) || Column B || Column C || Column D || [image: 5columns.png] The question is, *where I define the order and the behaviour of the columns? * ** I think I need to create a new node in *OBMySystemBrowser >> defaultRootNode * and in *OBMySystemBrowser >> defaultMetaNode*. But in some point an OBMetagraphBuilder set up the root node and I'm lost there because the only "constructor" that has is #on:class:comment:metaclass:. The order and the dependencies of the columns are implicit in the structure of the node? Please enlight me :$ Cheers -- Germán Leiva LeivaGerman(a)gmail.com

[Pharo-project] Inter-image communication
by Sean P. DeNigris Aug. 14, 2010

Aug. 14, 2010

How would I, from one image, tell another image to execute something? I searched Google and the Squeak and Pharo lists for: - "[Pharo|Squeak] inter-image communication" - "[Pharo|Squeak] script" The results included various references to old projects that I never hear mentioned now, and instructions on how to run code (via a .st as an argument to the vm command line) when launching an image. Thanks. Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Inter-image-communication-tp2320723p2320723.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Pharo-project] File out with syntax highlighting
by Schwab,Wilhelm K Aug. 14, 2010

Hello all, I did a little more digging toward my goal of exporting a given package's code in syntax-highlighted form. Solutions suggested below include Squeak's copy-to-html and Shout-Pier. The copy code was removed from Pharo. Are the pieces still more or less available, or did a lot of code get tossed? I envision a small export filter that takes a package name and writes html for every method that belongs in the package, so I don't care about the menu/command integration, only about how practical it would be to use the pieces in the image to build the filter. The other option is Pier-Shout. Where does that live? It is not my first choice, but if nothing else, it might fill in the missing pieces allowing me to build what I want. If you can provide me also links, metacello configs, and what's the status of them for each version of pharo, it shoud be great! :D Thanks! Guille

[Pharo-project] Remove ParagraphEditor
by Guillermo Polito Aug. 13, 2010

Aug. 13, 2010

Hi! I've prepared a changeset where there are the following changes - replace ParagraphEditor by SmalltalkEditor - replace TextMorphEditor by SmalltalkEditor or TextEditor where it corresponds(or I suppose so) - some changes in SmalltalkEditor and some classes like Workspace, Inspector, ObjectExplorer... following the current versions of them in CUIS - lazy inicialization of keybindings in SmalltalkEditor and TextEditor - removal of ParagraphEditor and TextEditor I'm a little scared to submit this change to the inbox because I would like more people to try it... To install it you have to close every window, open the File browser, install the changeset and close the filebrowser, because if not there may remain references to AnObsoleteParagraphEditor. Cheers!
