[Pharo-project] Trying to install Rio file handling package
by Lawson English Aug. 21, 2010

Aug. 21, 2010

The Gallery addon for pier first requires that Rio be installed. http://www.squeaksource.com/@7zePIlRlfoA0dT1I/VwzOlsoy However, rio won't install due to errors: FileMacOSXExectuive class as yet unclassified getenv: getenv: varString " self getenv: 'HOME' " " self getenv: 'ZYZZYX' " <> expected ->cdecl: char* 'getenv' ( char* ) module: 'libc.dylib'> ^self externalCallFailed Happens in both the latest Pharo and the latest Squeak. Not sure how to fix this... thanks for any advice. Lawson

[Pharo-project] How to redraw a PluggableTreeMorph when its contents change
by Rob Rothwell Aug. 21, 2010

Aug. 21, 2010

Thanks to the TreeMorph Pharocast (thank you!) and some digging, I have added a context menu to a PluggableTreeMorph that lets me add a child to a selected node (I am just using the idea of nested "accounts"): addAccount | isExpanded | aTreeMorph selectedMorph complexContents item addAccount: (Account new accountName: (UIManager default request: 'Enter a new account name:')). isExpanded := aTreeMorph selectedMorph isExpanded. aTreeMorph toggleExpandedState: aTreeMorph selectedMorph. isExpanded ifTrue: [aTreeMorph toggleExpandedState: aTreeMorph selectedMorph.] But as you can see I can only figure out how to show new nodes by toggling the expanded state, which is really not helpful if you want to rename, delete, etc... Is there a way to somehow just inform the PluggableTreeMorph to redraw itself after changing its contents? Thank you, Rob

[Pharo-project] Something wrong with changes?
by Schwab,Wilhelm K Aug. 20, 2010

Aug. 20, 2010

I might have a corrupt change log. It is not particularly large, so I doubt it is size related. The problem is that I am not getting temporary names (lots of t1, t2, ... where there should be meaningful names). I recently copied the image from Linux to Windows and back; the timing is interesting. I also sometimes find that Ubuntu takes a LONG time to complete writes to flash sticks and wonder whether that might be an accident waiting to happen?? I have a backup from not quite a week ago and will check the image on the Windows box. Between the two of them and some recovery, I can probably be back in action quickly. It is also time for me to move from 1.1 RC2 to release anyway. Does any of this (possible changes woes and/or problems moving between Linux and Windows) sound familiar? Bill

Hi I'm using a version of moose and now I cannot interact anymore with windows. When I click on them I get the world menu. If I open a tool, then I can interact with it but not with the windows I opened. Does anybody have an idea where this may come from? I tried to do a Ctrl. but nothing changes Stef

[Pharo-project] methods being overridden
by Robert Sirois Aug. 20, 2010

Aug. 20, 2010

What could cause methods to be overridden with code from other methods when copying classes (right click > copy)? Either that, or something went wrong when I imported an image via the config portal in the dispatcher (seaside). It looks like everything subclassing from WAComponent had all their methods overridden with byte code. Is this a better topic for the seaside list? Thanks,RS
