Sig, Today, I ran into a bug of mine that I would not have had to track down if the various typed byte arrays (double in particular) existed. The more you can offer in that area, with indexing, bulk fill, bulk copy, etc., the better. I also ran into what appears to be a maximum number of arguments to an external call. Can you get around that? I can too, in this case. It's shameless, but I will "dumb down" the call so that FFI can handle it. There are arguments that I can default or provide from a shared library, and just call into a facade function exported from there. Shouldn't have to do that, clearly, but it will work. Bill

I would appreciate anyone interested in objects-as-methods on Cog pounding on the latest Cog VMs (http://www.mirandabanda.org/files/Cog/VM/VM.r2313/) as this involved substantial changes to method lookup/inline cacheing machinery and there could easily be bugs. I just want to let you know that MuTalk is available for Pharo-Dev versions 1.0 and 1.1 you can load it with monticello from http://www.squeaksource.com/MutationTesting MutationTesting-NicolasChillo.101 for loading last version in Pharo 1.1 (thanks to Francisco Ortiz PeÃ±aloza) MutationTesting-GabrielBrunstein.97 for loading last verion in Pharo 1.0 More info here: http://code.google.com/p/mutalk/ We developed it with Nicolas Chillo for our career thesis but we will continue working on it. Basically, Mutation Testing is a technique for measuring and improving tests quality. All suggestions are welcome. Bests, Gabriel PS: it doesn't work with CogVM but I think that this problem will be solved with Pharo 1.2 (we must adapt it to work there).

IÂ´m developing new widgets, integrateds in Polymorph. guys all my papers are using Smalltalk (visualworks, squeak mainly so far) as a research vehicule. You can use them to do marketing around smalltalk because there are good papers in prestigious venues. Please do not have the time. Hi all I'm cleaning SystemNavigation (no comment). Now I really SystemNavigation to be able to navigate a given environment (instance of SystemDictionary). Therefore I introduced an analyzedEnvironment and I will funnel most methods to use it. Now some queries are doing memory scanning (allBehaviorDo:) so I would like to use the following semantics for the method names all* will refer to methods that are not respecting the analyzedEnvironment but could scan the complete memory and I would like to introduce their pendant to convey the fact that they only take as input a given environment. Example allClasses vs classes This would allow us to have in place a nice infrastructure to load and analyse code in a separate environment and do atomica loading. This was done like that in VW30. What do you think. Stef

In which image? do you see changes related to methodReference or timestamp? I know that the SUnit code niall sent us does not contain all the source code and that the binary is different from the source code. we should investigate that. [Pharo-project] NativeBoost callbacks: double return values?

Sig, Something that I would very much like to go on not really understanding<g> is that complexity of returning a double, and its further impact on callbacks. Aside from the usual myriad uses, my biggest interest in callbacks is for numerical analysis where double return values are very common. Is that something that you can make work by near magic? I don't really care if they require special handling, but it would be very nice if they are at least not very difficult to set up. Bill
