[Pharo-project] RBScanner>>#initializeClassificationTable
by Benjamin Nov. 25, 2010

Hello guys, Is there a reason this method use : (Scanner isLiteralSymbol: '_') ifTrue: [ self initializeChars: '_' to: #alphabetic ] ifFalse: [ self initializeChars: '_' to: #special ]. and not (Scanner allowUnderscoreAsAssignment) ifTrue: [ self initializeChars: '_' to: #special ] ifFalse:[ self initializeChars: '_' to: #alphabetic ] ? Cheers, Ben

Oscar There are only a few really really newbies questions. Then we like newbies and their questions because we learned all a lot from them. So this is not because we may talk about stuff that looks complex that - they are (often this is just that we do not have enough time to understand) - we know everything - we do not like to reply to simple questions - we do not like to learn from answer to simple questions. So keep asking questions and having fun with us. I hate those mailing-lists where people are asked to do their homework. :) Stef

[Pharo-project] Printing an array on file without quotes
by Oscar E A Callau Nov. 25, 2010

Hi all, I'm trying to print arrays using: FileStream forceNewFileNamed: 'path/file' do: [ :stream | ... stream print: myArray asCommaString withoutQuoting . ... ] The printing works well, but in the file, I get something like this: 'numbers, 1 , 2 , 3 , 4' with quotes!. This is a little annoying, because I'm forced to manually remove the quotes. Is there a way to get the printed file without quoting? Sorry for my n00b question . Thanks in advance. P.S.: Pharo image 1.1.1 Oscar E. A. Callaú

[Pharo-project] Printing an array on file without quotes
by Torsten Bergmann Nov. 25, 2010

Just use #nextPutAll: ------------------------------------------------------------------ myArray := #(1 2 3 4). FileStream forceNewFileNamed: 'foo.txt' do: [ :stream | stream nextPutAll: myArray asCommaString withoutQuoting ] ------------------------------------------------------------------ If you want to print a single character use #nextPut: Note that Transcript is also a stream, so it often helps to write to Transcript first and later switch to the file(stream) to check writing results. [Pharo-project] Issue 3291 in pharo: Missing text field with completion
by Lukas Renggli Nov. 25, 2010

Nov. 25, 2010

> So, its a basic widget which, afaik is missing and that could be used with > ob-tools. I don't follow what you and Francisco are saying. IMHO there is a much better widget already in OB. I suggest to make that a standard widget so that other tools outside of OB can take advantage too. It is simple subclass of DialogWindow morph from Polymorph and can be fully configured and opened for example like this:   OBCompletionRequest new     prompt: 'Find Class';     searchBlock: [ :string | self findClassIn: target environment pattern: string ];     labelBlock: [ :class | class name ];     iconBlock: [ :class | class browserIcon ];     signal Lukas -- Lukas Renggli www.lukas-renggli.ch -- Lukas Renggli www.lukas-renggli.ch
