[Pharo-project] Issue 3384 in pharo: include static files in Monticello package
by pharo＠googlecode.com Dec. 5, 2010

Dec. 5, 2010

Status: Accepted Owner: laurent.laffont Labels: Type-RequestForEnhancement New issue 3384 by laurent.laffont: include static files in Monticello package http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3384 See: http://forum.world.st/static-files-in-a-MC-package-td3072246.html and: http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/pipermail/beginners/2010-December/007398.… MC 1.5 / 1.6 seems to handle the inclusion of static files in a package, but Pharo uses an older version so it should be upgraded but: The problem is not that we simply ignore what keith did. This is that the implications were not clear and that the code was not simple. So cleaning MC progressively is the only way to be able to later improve it.

[Pharo-project] SampledSound>>storeWAVOnFileNamed:
by Schwab,Wilhelm K Dec. 5, 2010

Dec. 5, 2010

Stef, I was trying to create a SampledSound from floating point data ("digitized" to signed words) and then save a WAV file using #storeWAVOnFileNamed:. Attempts to play the results on Ubuntu fail with a gstream error. I am wondering if the code might be promising compression and not delivering it, or vice versa. FWIW, attached is some code that I ported from my Dolphin image. The files that it writes play and look correct in audacity's graph view. If it has any value to you, let me know and I can try to sort out its lineage. I *think* it is code that I added to Dolphin by adapting a couple of methods from Squeak. Bill

[Pharo-project] Is there a good example of an app using SqueakDBX to output data?
by Frank Church Dec. 5, 2010

Dec. 5, 2010

I am looking for a SqueakDBX demo that shows how to display the output of records from the database, like outputting them in a tabular format. Does anyone know of an example somewhere? -- Frank Church ======================= http://devblog.brahmancreations.com

[Pharo-project] Out of bounds while loading package
by Guillermo Polito Dec. 5, 2010

Dec. 5, 2010

Hi! I was trying to load ConfigurationOfPharo in Core 1.2, so we can (slowly) get a Dev image. So It began well, but when it reached AST-Core-lr.84, it raised up an exception: "subscript is out of bounds: -1" It is mainly caused by CommentReference>>parseTimestampFrom: Which has the next comment: "Timestampstrings can be of the form: <authorname><date><time>. <authorname><date> <date><time> <date><time><authorname> <date><authorname> <historical>" The string timestamp is '<historical>' indeed, but it does the follow check: ^ (aString isEmpty or:[aString = 'historical']) ifTrue:[DateAndTime new] ifFalse:[ *here comes the error ...* Shouldn't that check be ^ (aString isEmpty or:[aString = '<historical>']) ?? Cheers, Guille
